As has been said very little useful information provided for the original poster, why not start another thread if you want to ramble on.
Try having a look at this website it has a lot of useful info for photographers http://www.dpreview.com

Thanks for the link Ken, not sure if you can answer this but is there any way to tell if a particular camera has interpolation? think its where the camera takes a picture and then makes it bigger by adding in extra pixels that arent actually there 'fake' pixels so to speak.. it leaves you with a very bad looking image and its done so manufacturors can claim their camera has a higher MP rating..... just asking cuz i need really large images that are crystal clear...
oh and dont worry about the useless ramblings of this lotdoesnt bother me if they ramble on, like button said... just some friendly banter

Another useful site is this:

The people on there are friendly and very helpful, plus it has a large pool of resources to draw on.

If it's personal advice you want, I'd suggest you get yourself down to your local photography club. I used to be a member of one, but had to give it up due to lack of money. Down there you'll probably meet a wide range of people and pick up loads of advice about all sorts of things.
If you're lucky you may find someone with some second-hand kit they no longer need. Or at least get advice about where and wherenot to buy from.
I think I read somewhere on one of the ephotozine forums that there is a list of them on their site. If not you could try a google search.
