Are you on about the META TAGS ?
I think thats what they are called ( but do not quote me ) ... all i do ( and i really dont know if it works ) is , when designing a page in the header / title part of the html code , stick a load of words in ... a bit like when you are selling an item and you use words for the most searches.

eg : ( on a page where there are downloads ) ill put - smilies, avatars, free, art, design, xelle, fun, design, sketch , music, ETC .... To cover as many searches as i can With words that apply to the contents of my page / site.

AS I SAY ... I have been doing it for ages now, dont know if it really works though.
