Talking EBAY DEFECTOR ! *farmgirls* comes to ebid.

Having been running successful auctions on eBay for the last 4 years, I'm now defecting to ebid for several reasons:

ebid has consistently good word of mouth. Unlike ebay which pays Livewire.com to fabricate fake forums on their behalf filled with pro-ebay postings, ebid's good name is spreading through word of mouth via my other ebaying friends!

Obviously, the free listing and final value fees not to mention all the other listing upgrades is irresistably attractive!

Nothing lasts forever, and whilst ebay profits may be up, Seller sentiment is down. Category numbers (numerical content of items) are dramatically reduced since 4 years ago when I began.

Ebid is the only other (well-known) major rival to ebay at the present time, and has been steadily chugging away in the back ground bidding it's time patiently. It can only get better, especially if the site could be promoted more to make sellers aware of the free listing fees and more importanly to attract vital buying traffic to the site.

My partner also runs several ebay selling IDs and has done so for around 7 years. He is a high volume 'powerseller' but is also fed up with his monthly final value fees bill of hundreds of pounds, considering how much he has already paid in initial listing fees!

I am finding ebid a little more complicated to navigate around, larger text options would be useful for us goggle-eyed species! And I still havent managed to find the free listing /auction maker tool! so if anyone can post a link to it,that would be useful.

One of my main selling concerns is going to be non paying bidders and how to deal with them, again I cant find any information on how ebid deals with this yet.

Also, is there such thing as a Search for Seller's Details or Search ofr Buyer's bidding history? Links welcomed!

I should be uploading my first listings in a week, I have subscribed to Gold status, but it wil take me this long to learn how it's done over here!

I am already heavily promoting ebid in my template emails I send out to my current ebay buyers and have also drafted an email notice with ebid's free listings offer which I will spam out to fellow ebay sellers in due course.

The only thing I'm unhappy to note is that ebid allows Paypal (ebay's company) to trade on their site!

Welcome to ebid, if I say so myself! Hope to be trading with you all soon!

    Unhappy store logo

Hi to all. ggj2 here. I am new & went to set up a store & it won't let me without a banner or a logo, which I don't have. I already have quite a few items up for auction. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Thanks, Ken!
I have been using Nochex for a few years, but found that many people were unfamiliar with it as ebay banned Nochex logos in listings. Nochex are competitively priced and homegrown unlike Plague-Pal, with a personalised customer service email response too.

Personally, I prefer Online Bank Transfer most of all. It's free to send and receive for both parties (in the UK) and the buyer receives your bank details, yet you dont receive their's,encouraging the buyer to have faith in the transaction. There are no chargebacks should the transaction occur by fraud with stolen card or bank details as your bank covers you fully under thier own insurance policies, and bank transfer requires less identifiable information than sending a standard cheque, which has not only your account and sort number but a signature and often a home address too.

I havent discovered yet if ebid allows Nochex banners in listings, but if they do I shall be right in there.

Ebid's community forums are a breath of fresh air, full of optimisim and enthusiasm for getting the ebid ball rolling.I may not be right here from the beginning with ebid, but it feels as if ebid is about to take off in a big way just recently, and it feels good to be here at the start of something better.

I have had the Nochex banner in all my listings for as long as I can remember, farmgirls ........ and I've not been 'slapped' for it once ......yet .... so I'm assuming it's ok
