    Red face

This Thread brings back Sad memories from the 1970's ?

    I once had a Telescope from Dixons purchased for Christmas on 1971. This was the Best Telescope a young 10 year old could have;

    The Reason's were

    1) It was a Refractor Telescope

    2) 65 Times Zoom

    3) A Book on the Planets

    4) Man nipping regularly to the Moon Apollo Mission's

    5) Mrs Wilkinson & 2 Teenage daughters living opposite

    6) My Bedroom having Net Curtains

    7) Mrs Wilkinson

    8) Living on a Hill with Fabulous Views

    9) Mrs Wilkinson

    10) Animals in Tree's to Look at

    11) Mrs Wilkinson

A Fatefull day only 5 weeks after Christmas I Left it (The Telescope) on its Tripod on the wrong side of the Garage door.........................

When my Dad flung it open and my 3 Footer Dropped like a stone
onto the Concrete driveway, Smashing it into Pieces.

It took me 3 Hours to Stop Crying and my Dad tried his best but My Telescope which was £29.95 Alot of Money back in Good O'l 71 was doomed

To this Day i still stare at the Stars Wondering what could have been ?

As for Mrs Wilkinson She still paraded Near Naked in her Bedroom Window for another 3 Years until she Moved...............

A Very Sad Day,My Dad was also Sad for some strange reason ?
