    Default Driving Traffic

Has anyone started promoting their ebid auctions as of yet?

I was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers as i'm not certain whether to use the same methods as on ebay?

Hi, I have put a link on my GreedBay About Me page and sent a newsletter to all the people who had me down in their favourite stores list. This has resulted in some people emailing orders instead of going through either auction site. I think people who have been used to a good service from my GreedBay shop are reluctant to go through a different auction site if they don't have to.
I intend to email all the people who have paid by PayPal in the last say 3 months to let them know I am changing my listings to eBid, but I don't want to do this too soon before I have properly stocked up my eBid shop.
I don't want to delete all my Greedbay shop listings before I have to either, since I have paid for them, but I will do this before the postage goes up. I expect (hope) that when most of my Greedbay listings end, previous customers will find me here. I have looked on Google and there are pages of links to Woolshopdirect!!!
I have updated my compliment slips, so that they show the ebid link instead of GreedBay, and I have also added a link to my own website directing people to my eBay shop.

I will see how it goes for a while before trying anything else. August is always quiet fo knitting.

    Good luck and best wishes,
    Karen

I'm putting a compliment slip into every packet I post from Ebay sales. Slip basically explains why I've opened a shop here (higher fees and lower visibility on Ebay), and that they can buy my DVDs cheaper here.

Let's hope some of them decide to buy from here, as a result, instead... and at minimum it's spreading the word about Ebid anyway.

I'm letting buyers know on the other side when sending items out. I wonder how many buyers are registered on here now i'd be interested to know. A fair number of sellers are moving over at the mo'.

I'm putting fliers into all my parcels that I sell through e.bay promoting my store on here
haven't really had time to fully stock the store on here but am disappointed that no one really seems to look at what I'm selling, any advice would be greatly appreciated as I would really like it to take off on here.
at the moment my teenagers are home on school holidays plus hubby as well so time on the computer is limited but in september once everything is back to normal would like to get more things listed but do feel it will be a waste of time if no one even looks at them.

The good thing about Ebid is that the only thing you have to lose is a bit of time. Listing is free so, unlike Ebay you can run as many auctions as you want for as long as you want. It won't cost you a penny till one of your auctions sells... by which point you won't mind a 2% FVF.

I haven't given up on Ebay yet... can't afford to. However, I can't keep on relisting stuff on Ebay that doesn't sell in 10 days (like Ebay would like me to do with the new shop changes)...

I've sold 7 DVDs on Ebid in the last 2 weeks or so, 2 of them today. So far this weekend, despite having a load of BINS and auctions on Ebay I've sold exactly ONE DVD .. lol ... and it's coating me a fortune in listing fees.

What this place needs is tons and tons of different stuff up for auction/sale. The bigger it gets, and the more auctions it attracts, the more buyers it will in turn attract... and the more attention from all the search engines.

For the sake of spending a bit of time listing stuff IMO it's well worth givoing this place a good chance... so I would say GO FOR IT!!

Keep other options open at the same time though... don't put all your eggs in the one basket, as many have done with their Ebay shops (including myself )

I do agree with you , I do think it will take off here but its soooooooooo frustrating , we only decided to start up our very small venture this year and have already had a few knocks
things were just starting to pick up over on e.bay and we were looking forward to hopefully doing well at christmas and then it all changed . I will list bits on here but just get so frustrated when no one even looks at them.
but I will keep plugging away and hopefully things will pick up
if anyone has any ideas as to what they might like to see in our little shop then please let us know

I have just had a look at your listing. Your items are good, but nothing listed that I could do with at the mo. But I will come again to see if you have anything I fancy. Your p&p is fair too.

I have just listed loads more things, But nobody seems to even be looking. I am planning on listing 1000's in between looking after my two youngons.

we're having trouble getting traffic to our shop as well, despite sending out comp slips with our ebay parcels.

we're used to selling anything between 7 and 20 items a day on ebay. so far on ebid we've sold one thing in about 3 weeks so i'm not sure what we're doing wrong. our items are cheaper on ebid too.

the only thing i can think of is that we only have 25 auctions listed on ebid...compared to 260 on ebay. that and the stark facts are, ebid just doesn't have the buyers that ebay has.
Hair accessories with free p&p!? Come on in and take a look...
