    Default Questions sent to buyer - nothing on my dashboard

    Yesterday I sent a question to the seller of item 229695795, which are 2 jigsaws, via the "send question to seller" box on the listing page https://www.ebid.net/uk/for-sale/501...-229695795.htm .

    I haven't heard back yet however seeing as it was the first time I've messaged a seller about an item I was wondering where i would see notification of an answer. I found the area of "Q&A" on my eBId dashboard and I assume that is where such correspondence would take place? There is nothing in the bit "Answers I'm Waiting On" which I assume to be the place where I would find such information?

    Am I looking in the right bit? Why has it not appeared in my dashboard? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    If this is happening to me on my first attempt how do I know no one is messaging me with questions relating to listings?

    Good question and I'm not certain I can say. From memory of a long long time ago, the seller gets an email notification, much as one does in the forums when receiving a private message.

    If you want to use one of my listings as a test, I'm fine with that. Don't make the question too belligerent, I think they're visible on the listing! (Which, if so, is a feature I'm not keen on, but enough said about that).

    Also, if you like, I'll ask a question on a listing of yours.

    Yes, the answer should show up in the Q&A section. Don't remember if you get advised by email that the seller has replied as well as I tend to delete them. She is about as I purchased a jigsaw from her yesterday and she let me know she would post it this morning, which she has done.

    That's odd! Did you just purchase or ask a question? Perhaps there lies the difference.

    @Johnwash. I have just asked a question and it has immediately shown up in my eBId Q&A section. I did the exact same thing as yesterday with the listing I was looking at. By the way, I like that in your listing you've linked sign-up for eBid, great idea, might do that myself.

    I also just sent her (the jigsaw seller)another message and it hasn't shown up in my eBid dashboard area.

    It works!
    I got an email saying there was a question, I clicked on the link in the email, which took me to the question within the listing (very tactful question, haha!) and gave my reply, which I guess will give you an email. It took me to a page with:
    Q&A Details Saved and Sent by Email To Other Party


    An email has been sent to tonnesofstuff informing them of your input. You'll be emailed if/when they reply. You can also keep track of all the Q&A that you need to respond to via the "My eBid > My eBid Dashboard > Q&A Summary" page.

    Our conversation is on https://www.ebid.net/uk/for-sale/977...-230594624.htm and I imagine is visible to other visitors.

    I feel it's a pity that's the only way of messaging sellers, unless they also happen to use the forums. For some questions it's nice to have it available, can usefully clarify some aspect of an item. But when I see a listing that would benefit from some change, on the other side, time permitting, I might message the seller quietly. Doing it publicly on this site is potentially embarrassing for the seller, not helpful.

    I'll go and send you a question...

    Fake question sent. Don't get your hopes up! Pleased to be seeing you selling an Asimov book, greatest sci-fi author of all time, but I already have the whole of the Foundation series. I rarely reread a book, but there's so much in that series I've read it at least twice. As a teenager I used our local library a lot, took out every book I could find on clock repairing and sci-fi. Another great sci fi author I discovered was H G Wells, read lots of his and was so disappointed when I read History of Mr Polly. Not sci fi at all! How dare he!

    Hi there, slightly different variation of the Q & A problem to my last one and this one. I have received two separate e mails supposedly from ebid saying there is a question (on two different items). Last time there was no question on my dashboard. This time both supposed questions say they are from e bid support telling me i need to verify my account due to updates from 5th July. They provide a link but say you have to write it in (you cannot just click on it). It all looks like scam phishing to me. Have you seen or heard of anything similar??

    thank you, i suspected as much but as i am new to this site i wanted to be sure before ignoring it. Wonder how many more times they will try!!!
