The BBC is guilty of propagating fake news many times over. Just think of the predictions of doom and disaster it made over Brexit.
And anything good that happened did so "in spite of Brexit".
The BBC long ago forfeited any right to be taken seriously, after it was taken over by pinko liberals more concerned with "issues" than facts.
I think the BBC is guilty these days of NOT propagating enough news.
It has very few news items and talks them to death until you want to hear no more. Little world news, too much coronovirus "human interest".
But still it has had a massive increase in world audience as the world's most unbiased and accurate reporter in difficult times

around 50000 stamps listed, based in London
Wot Bill said! I'm sick of "human interest stories" while the statistics were reported badly (better now) and you would think that the rest of the world had vanished.

Am I right in thinking that before it's news, something needs to have happened?
An event.
Not a possibility, not a trendy opinion, not politicking, an event.
The best news station is the BBC World Service News, which you can get on DAB at 9.00 pm.
No speculation, no UK politicians posturing, no trendy issues or virtue signalling.
Just News.
