    Default Cobalamin deficiency debate

    Hi folks,
Just thought I'd start a thread here about this very interesting and equally controversial subject, oh and this vital vitamin.
I am interested to find out how much people are aware about cobalamin and the huge impact it has on health in general, and the affects of Vitamin B12 deficiency.
B12 is the name we known use, Cobalamin is its more formal or scientific name.

Recommended by my GP to improve circulation (numbness of feet in my case) and it works.

Nice to see you about Sally!

Lol, pmsl, good one Astral, thanks for the morning laugh !

Think I will be asking about B12 at my next doctors appointment as having weird slipping sensations particularly in right foot which hasn't gone away as she predicted. It's quite unnerving as I feel as if I am going to fall as I'm walking, going down slopes and hills is the worst, (before you say it, it's not due to being in the eBid army mess all day ! ) I'm beginning to wonder if my B12 levels are low being vegetarian, although I'm not a strict vegetarian I do eat dairy products and occasionally fish ?

Yes, I got the giggles at Astal's comment too! He's definitely on form!

Must admit, my diet is similar to yours but arteries harden etc over time..... and I am also an ex-smoker..... (yes, folks, I finally stopped 6pm 18th December last year......... but damage done methinks...)

I take a high dose B vitamin complex which includes B12 and it has helped sort out my thyroid hormones and my heart function...blood test results have been excellent recently

USA issues side effect warnings about Cobalamin, diarrhea, constipation, skin rash, but no such UK warnings.

I guess there are no substantial reasons not to take it.
