I am in Canada but I wish to list my items in US$. How can I do this?
Hi and welcome to the forums.
I believe the default currency for any listing is the seller's domestic currency, which in your case would be Canadian dollars. Buyers from countries/regions you sell to will see your listings in their native currency, (I would see the listings in U.S. dollars here in the U.S.). I don't think there's any way to set the default currency to any but your domestic currency; if anyone knows differently, please feel free to correct this.
Best wishes for many sales to all,
Go into Sell; select country(s) you want to sell to while listing. The listing will show in Canadian currency, and in parentheses it will show the equivalent amount in USA dollars. I know Paypal lets you set up which currency form you want to receive, or you can set up multiple currency accounts to make/receive funds in.
Does this work
I find the lack of the ability to list in US $ a problem, most of the people I trade with are in the USA. I have sold 1000's of items on ebay and I'm finding Ebid harder to deal with. Ebay has been unsupportive of sellers and I am searching for another auction site I looked at ebid a few years ago and I am afraid it has not improved enough to really complete with ebay.
It would help if you listed your items with the appropriate keywords:
N Scale 4 Box Cars and 1 Caboose
It doesn't really say what the item is, Model Railway is not only a viable keyword for your title, on an alternative site it is critical. Who made them? Atlas? Again those are keywords that someone will be using in their searches. leave keywords out and you significantly reduce your chances of the item selling.
As referenced above, the only comment in your description gives a valid reason not to purchase, because it doesn't make any sense. So what condition are these items in? Do I assume they are in absolutely perfect condition or do I assume that they are falling to pieces? Personally I also like to see a comment that an item will be well packed - having no comment about that means it could well be just thrown in a box.
eBid has improved significantly - it is not so much about giving eBid another try... How about giving yourself another try, the cost benefits of doing so and the ability to learn a lot more about selling is there for the taking.
Typo, should read 'I do not ship items without insurance so please add $2.00 if you pay before I invoice you'.
