Hi folks,

I'm done with the horrendous abuse of a certain other site. This site looks like a much fairer place to do business. Big plus.

However I am not encouraged about traffic and sales here. I did a "closed listing" search for laptops, my chosen field, and I could not find one that had sold.

If I thought it would pay I would jump at the half-price Seller+ offer, but sadly I don't see it adding up.

eBid offer a platform for sellers to do their business without interference from them. Although eBid automatically upload seller listings to Google Shopping for free we still have to do our own advertising and promoting where-ever we can, hence the low to no fees here. Consider what you get for your 49.99 compared to TOS which charge and arm and a leg to do all the work for you.

Your choice of shipping options
Your choice of payment options

Compared to me your situation is different in two main ways, firstly your chosen field and secondly your location. For me I get my joining fee back every month, best money I ever spent, but obviously there are no guarantees.

Another feature that you might not be aware of is the Featured and Front Page listings, these cost £1 and £2.50 in the UK, but there is no FVF. So for £1 I could list a £500 item for 99 days and if I get a sale nothing more to pay. Could be useful for high price listings.

Are your laptops new or refurbished?

They are refurbs. I'm into machines the typical person needs, rather than the high-end stuff. I was a "top-rated-plus" seller before the latest wave of impossible anti-seller policies was invoked.

I am also new to ebid, I have also opted for the seller plus option

I have been promoting my listings on FB but so far I have had no sales at all.

I do well on the other major auction site, but because of the very low profit margins on my items the fees on the other site are leaving me with very little profit.

I do hope that I start to sell on this site soon, or I can see it being a very long time before I get back my listing fee let a lone make a profit.

Hi and welcome to eBid.

If you're interested in joining as seller+ you could always contact support: support@ebid.net to see if they'd still allow you to list at the reduced rate, I've heard they've done this before, it wouldn't hurt to ask and it might be worth a try.

I can't speak for others, but I've made back my initial investment and then some, plus I find it much easier to list here than other sites I used to sell on. It can be slow at times, but IMHO with the current state of the global economy that's to be expected and would likely be an issue almost anywhere you chose to list, (except maybe Feepay, which I call Feepay for a reason)...
