Re: the original question, I used to make a fair number of sales on eBid, (all my fb is from eBid), though it's slowed to a trickle in recent months. I think it has something to do with the fact that my items used to appear with some regularity on Google shopping, but I haven't been able to find anything on there in recent months, not sure why as I have a store exemption for my vintage items (the ones that previously appeared on GS). I should probably contact eBid support about this, no doubt there's something I need to be doing that I'm not doing (or vice versa).

Google no longer do store exemptions, each item if it has no bar code should have 'exempt' in the barcode field of the listing.

Thanks Sherlock, I didn't know this, I guess that explains the GS mystery. Geez, if I have to go through 1600 listings and put exempt on each one it will take forever, unless there's a way to do it in Bulk Edit, (think I'll check it out, fingers, toes and eyeballs crossed)...

Used Bulk Edit to add exempt to the SKU field, hope that does the trick.

It is not the SKU field where exempt needs to be sues, it is the barcode field near the top of the listing page before the description.

Can't remember the exact field name at the moment, but it is just before the brand field.

Highly unlikely as you're selling the same item at the same price as on greedbay.Why would anyone want to come here to buy from you when they can do it on a place they're familiar with.You need to give them an incentive & in this mercenary age the obvious choice is price cut.
It has been explained many times that the difference in fees here can give you more profit with a price cut on your items.

Thanks again Sherlock, (another 'doh!' moment here). I didn't notice this field in the Bulk Edit, will have another look. If I can't find a way to do this via Bulk Edit, I may just post it as a suggestion, as I can't possibly be the only seller who might need to edit this field for more than a few items.

Regarding price. This has cropped up a few times and my thinking is to offer a price of around 5% less on eBid than eBay in order to:

a. Give the buyer an incentive.
b. Appear higher in advanced searches where potential buyers use lowest price.
c. Increase seller margins,

With regards to increasing seller margins a simple comparison is this:

Sell an item for £10 on eBay with £3 shipping.

eBay fees = 9.9% of £13 which is £1.29
Paypal fees = 3.4% of £13 + £0.20 which is £0.64

Total fees are £1.93 out of the £13 so you are left with £11.07

Sell the same item for £9.50 with £3 shipping on eBid.

eBid fees 2% (Lifetime fee) of £9.50 = £0.19
Paypal fees 3.4% + £0.20 of £12.50 = £0.63

Total fees are £0.82 so you are left with £11.68, an extra £0.61 despite selling at a lower price.

So on a £10 item you can increase your margin by 6.1% by selling at a lower price, and that is without store and re-listing fees on eBay. For those who sell on both sites this gives the opportunity to migrate customers to eBid using the lower price, while increasing profits, a real win win situation.

I see what you mean now and that auction is also mine
