Default Food allergy laws enforced in restaurants and takeaways across the EU

Restaurants and takeaways across Europe will be required by law to tell customers if their food contains ingredients known to trigger allergies.

Staff must provide information on 14 everyday allergens including nuts, milk, celery, gluten, soya and wheat.

The new measures, which come into force on Saturday, cover meals served in bakeries, cafes, care homes and packaged produce sold by supermarkets.

Had never heard of lupin as an allergen.

I would imagine that they will just need to have a cover all that all foods cannot guarantee to be free of any allergens and may have been in contact with any or all allergens as it is created in a location that comes into contact with ..... and list ALL of them.
As the list includes sulphur dioxide even cooking from scratch causes problems, others can be caused by those who supply them changing their ingredients and it not immediately obvious....

As there are cases where it can cause death even a peanut in the same atmosphere or similar it will not be worth people risking lives and their livelihood.
