I am trying to make bows, help

Tagging onto this 'crafty' thread...

I was at a wedding on Saturday, and my grand-niece was messing about making things from little coloured (some multi-coloured) elastic bands with what looked like a crochet hook. It was rather reminiscent of something my sisters did in childhood using a hook and cotton reel with four small nails in the top - but she was just using her hands and occasionally the hook. Anyone come across this? Is it a new 'fad'? Does it have a name?

It's called "Loom bands" and the whole world has gone crazy for it.

The cotton reel with nails is cord knitting and still goes on but usually with a bought thingy as cotton reels are no longer made of wood.
