Nochex? I used to use it but no-one ever paid that way.

    Hi.
I opened an account with pppay in feb and have used it 5 times with no problems.
Two were payments to me and 3 i sent to others.
Has anyone tried skrill ? i was thinking of adding them.

I've had an account with them for ages. Nobody has ever paid me via it or me ever paid anybody with it.

PayPal is really the only game in town, I believe. Any other payment processor is hardly worth the bother.

Google started out good, offering lower fees than PayPal. They soon raised them into line with PayPal's though - maybe pressured by eBay. After that they were just another 'also ran'.

I reckon eBid could make something of PPPay as an in-house payment system if they put a bit of work into it. They seem to lack the will though. Plus, from what I have read, support is as good as non-existent for those that do use it and have a problem they need help with.

Maybe the real problem is that eBid have more pies than they have fingers.

I had a look at stripe, but I could not work out if I needed to add a bit of code to my listings or if ebid needed to do something.

Stripe act as a payment processor for credit cards.

I offer Skrill. No-one on eBid has ever used it to pay me. I used to sell on the Belgian site and a few buyers used Skrill.
It seems to be more popular in Europe but eBid is not strong in Europe, more's the pity. The few times I have used it either to receive or to pay money I have had no problems but I know that some people have had problems.

I've used PPPay.com quite a number of times, both paying and receiving, never had a problem.

I've used them at the beginning, then stopped after some issues, and now started around 4 months ago taking it again as buyers don't have to dilly dally waiting for the amount to show on their card / bank statement if they are part of the mastercard secure code or verified by visa, as when you go to these screens, it shows the amount that will be debited.
Buyers can then simply add that amount straight away to pppay and pay.

The only downside to pppay is that some buyers simply think it is unacceptable for pppay to take a set up fee. (Which I agree with the buyers with) It should be a small deposit, or even no need for an amount if they are using the verified by visa / securecode

I will, tentatively, start to accept pppay again. Paypal will have to stay on my listings for the moment but their new terms are potentially disasterous.
