Depends also on how growth is being defined. Listed a few below; if unanswered, just means not sure.

Growth Factors Seen on eBid - Long Term > 1 Year (LT)/Short Term (ST) < 1Year

Multiple Site Enhancement LT & ST - Yes
    APP(s) Launch - ST - Yes
Blog Launch - ST - Yes
Social Networking Launch - ST - Yes

    Sales- LT (Yes)/ ST ( )
    Site Traffic - LT/ST - (No)/(No)
    Membership - LT (Yes)/ ST ( )
    # of Listings - LT (Yes)/ ST ( No)
    # of Stores - LT ( )/ ST ( )
Forum Use - LT (No)/ ST (No)

I think putting things in proper context is important as well as rate of growth. What I mean by that is How does the rate of growth compare to other similar sites? Is this rate satisfactory?

I think if the site was increasing in members and sales velocity the number of listings would be steadily increasing.

These are key factors indeed. I agree that if membership and sales were increasing over a broader spectrum of sellers, would probably result in steadier increases in listings.

How we compare to other site (alternatives) is also critical.

I think if someone had access to these at good prices they could make a good buck as many internet providers are requiring there users to upgrade to them recently.
Call of Duty Black OPs 2 A very hot item that sells quickly there are no copies available on ebid so I have put my bid in over there. Another signal to me that things here are stagnant and we may be losing ground.

this is my edit: My point is we need more listings and more listings that attract customers. Things like a DOCIS modems and Black Ops 2 that people are looking for.

In all fairness, the concentration of short term achievements by eBid will need time to determine their impact on growth. This would be at least a one year period of time. Also, hopefully eBid is setting up systems to correlate any growth noted from these recent launches.

It is not unusual for declines to occur in the midst of achievements. It is human nature to get discouraged, and jump ship, just as significant achievement is on the horizon.

Good point. One obvious recent achievement comes to mind and that is the mobile apps. I think in the long haul these will help with growth and retaining members.

Most of the short term progress is considerably late in taking foothold. So the site is playing catch up as compared to when these tidbits of technology should have been put into place.
I know since the app has been introduced listings have been dropping.

Yes, one would have hoped the introduction of the apps would have caused a surge in members and listings but this is yet to happen.

The pool or amount of people willing to take the leap into a new venue does have a limit and I wonder if not having the apps in place earlier simply squandered away most of that opportunity. There are other alternate sites that seem to have their ducks in a row. If a person were to have tried ebid and were unhappy with the outcome and then went to yet another alternative type site with some of the basics already in place what incentive do they have to come back? to answer my own question maybe the fees.

Are you saying that the introduction of the APP is related to the decline in listings?

Although the technology is long in coming, and should have been in place sometime ago; does not necessarily mean that it can not have a positive effect on growth. They are in place now, and they need to be given a fair amount of time to determine any impact on growth. This also includes the other recent launches mentioned.

I think this is simply an observation not necessarily a result because or due to the new apps. I would have hoped for a surge upon the introduction of the new apps.
