Lightbulb Numbers of bids displayed on gallery page?

I'm a total newbie to ebid but I'm an enthusiastic internet shopper. When I'm searching for an item and scrolling down a gallery list it is very useful to know the numbers of bids that have already been made. If a lot of people are bidding, the item is usually worth looking at. At the moment on ebid you have to open each item separately to find that out. And that may be giving an inaccurate impression. Maybe people are opening the item to see if others are interested ... not because they're seriously interested themselves. At least that's what I do. For sellers, the more people who are bidding on an item, the better it is, as there's nothing like a bit of competition to push the price up. Perhaps the "views" column on the gallery page could display bids instead of views ... or as well as views? Just a thought.

Amen ! It is unusual to see someone who knows here... yes!!! nice to understand what online auctioning is supposed to be. Instead of Cheerleading a site into dullness.

Whilst I think that auctions are probably only a small portion of ebids sales I do think it would be worth a trial for say 6 months.

This would require disclosing present monthly auction sales and then the monthly sales during the trail.

Will showing bids increase sales or put people off using ebid ?

The code to do it is already been done.

No trials..... not a childs game. If you try and sell with just fixed prices-buy now... it does not pertain to those sellers Geese.
It is for real auction sellers..
Auction is auction... fixed prices is another world, have nothing to do with auctions.

I just can not believe those who do not understand and keep head in the sand.

Ebid say they tried it years ago and it did not work for them.

So why would they do it again ?

Most "auction site" sales these days are buy now.

There is a dedicated aucton site
