I would like to live disgracefully and die gracefully!
I don't plan to get old… It will just happen, you can't plan to get old. Or maybe if I can somehow stop time.
'Time is the fire in which we burn.'
Actually I'd like to pretend to be deaf and annoy people.
or from my favourite miss-quote: I am become Deaf, Destroyer of Words.
I plan to keep active and fit. I'd better, cus I just planned to install a 30' x 11' glasshouse at the bottom of the garden. So I can extend the growing season, grow from seed in pots/trays and keep my baby plants (bless them) somewhere warm. I want to extend my fruit tree population too, we had a lovely crop of figs this year and loads of strawberries - so I want other fruits: blueberries, more blackcurrants, more apples, pears, plums. Then we will have the fattest blackbirds in the county!
So I'll be set up for old age, with plenty of fresh fruit and veg. I'm told its advantageous...
I remember everything, even what happened tomorrow.

Meet my avatar: Qu the engineer and enchanter. Who else could invent the armour piercing rabbit (can dig holes through anything) and the duck gun (fires rubber ducks)?
Join me on eBid here.
God bless eBid and all who sale in her!
Getting old is an inconvenience.
However, so long as there is a convenient convenience, we're OK!

First of all, I don't want to be rich when I die.
I will enjoy it while I can.
Little inheritance for the kids when I die. They are drip fed interesting sums every birthday and Christmas because they need it now, and I don't intend the taxman getting a share later.
I spend money on
- trees - mini-orchard gets bigger every year
- things that make a comfortable life, leather rocking chair
- travel - visited six new countries in 2013, will be at least that in 2014.

Why should my old age be any different to any other time?
I will enjoy it, because I will hopefully be,
old enough to know better, and young enough not to care.
My plan is to do partake in it the day after I am currently in. This appears to be working so far and will possibly fail when my brain forgets what day it is.

I think I am already old.
I find myself becoming more militant about things, less tolerant of inanity. I write scorching letters to the CEOs of companies who give me poor service. Surprisingly effective, and quicker than hanging on a phone to Balgalore.
And I can't bear to waste time, or food.
I can still climb trees, though.
I don't want to do less, but more. I want to learn more, start new things, try things I haven't done.
Perhaps you're really old when you don't.
If I get really gaga and decrepit, like the people who get in my way in Sainsbury's, I have told my wife to shoot me.

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"
