Being new to this site I had and have the misfortune to double list.
How can I avoid this or even to identify any double listing and remove them myself ?
Any Tips ?

Welcome to eBid! If you spot a listing that you've accidentally listed twice, simply click on that listing and you'll see underneath the listing title a set of clickable icons under SELLER OPTIONS....click on Edit/Close Listing. When that page loads up, scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see the option to DELETE....hope this helps some!![]()
One tip, when listing, is to make sure that each listing has a unique title. It's considered a duplicate listing if the title is the same, even if the pics are different.
When you relist, if your items are not run until sold, be sure to click both the delete AND the relist button when you check your listings that have NOT sold,....and you want to relist them. The delete gets rid of the old listing and number, and the relist gives it a new number and puts it live.
When you are in Listings I'm Running, then you can do a search by a particular word, or topic, and scan to see if you see any duplicates. Works ok if you don't have thousands of listings.

One way would be to give each listing a unique SKU.To check for duplicates click the Listings I'm Running in My eBid.Click the edit tab in your browser window & then click "Find" (This is in Firefox other browsers may have different wording)If the SKU shows up more than once, you have duplicates.
I've just remembered you can do an eBid search for SKU as well.
Just done the same thing. ( I forgot to delete it after reposting it.)
Went into the item that I knew was double listed, went into the subcategory and then sorted by auction title and the two duplicates appeared together and I quickly deleted the duplicate item.
If you haven't a lot of items just sort by auction title and you should see the duplicates next to each other.
You can export all your listings to a comma separated file which includes the title.
If you're using Windows, install Cygwin to get a decent command line. Or if you're using Mac or Linux, you have one already.
Then use 'cut' to trim out all but the title, 'sort' to sort into alpha order (if the export doesn't do that), and 'uniq -D' to report the duplicates.

Hey, hey, hey,
Now there are a few very good tips by all that responded, I thank you all.
The exporting and/or SKU approach I will employ and with a little practise, we may have remedied the problem.
'bluebedouin' Q - Would the SKU once a number has been entered give a unique number automatically with ever new listing thereafter ?
Were this the case any doubled title could bring up an Error - 'already exists'

As eBid has the 'No Duplicates' rule it would make sense (and save a lot of grief) if they warned you when you submitted the listing that it was classed as a duplicate and return you to the listing form - but then what eBid should do and what it does do are often two entirely different things.
Maybe if the API ever puts in an appearance someone may write a utility to check for duplicates, though that would still be a check after the event rather than before it.
I do know of no Auction site that does prompt a lister when a dublicate is listed.
In fact some admins do allow them.
Duplication is a greater hazard to the seller and onlytake up unnecessay space.
Treat a duplication like a picture, instead of deletion after 15 Days send it into an archives folder after 24 hours or sooner which could also be deleted automatically after a month or whatever.
With a small amount of listing the export system work well, but once you have thousands of listings mishaps. occur.
Well maybe Ebid will give it some thought and time.
"In fact some admins do allow them", well, that's the point, isn't it. If a site allows them, there's no value in warning about duplicates.
I thoroughly agree with Mel, it would be a great improvement if there were a warning when attempting to create a duplicate.
Maybe that would be a little tricky to implement for batch imports, in which case at least a feature that you could click on to search all your listings for duplicates and warn, that would be better than nothing.
