Is a King Crab what is caught by those rowing a Royal Barge?

No, you're thinking of Queen Scallops

I sure am enjoying the view. Why with all that paddling I've worked up an appetite for flaming broiled scallops, Soft Shell Crab with tartar sauce, lettuce and tomatoe and chips with vinegar. :-)

Now a Batfish on the other hand does not look very appetizing. This strange looking sea creature from the West Indies, is flat in appearance and has wing like projections.

Hedgehog - This Old World creature of the night, can become a ball of spines, if bothered or threatened. Related to the porcupine, another spiny mammal, and they like to feast on insects.

Last year our very wet summer produced record amounts of hedgehog food in the form of slugs. I haven't seen one on our evening dog walk yet this year.

Oh, how awesomely adorable. Are those spines prickly or soft?

When they are babies, they are soft, but they harden - The main reason for not handling a hedgehog is that they tend to be flea infested. My dogs find them irresistable - they just long to pick them up and sometimes do so. Fortunately, my dogs have all been soft mouthed gun dog breeds so the hedgepigs are unharmed.

Vetty vetty interesting. Speaking of spines, the Goby is a spiny-finned fish. Their pelvic fins are joined to create an abdominal suction disk.
