I've seen requests for a shopping cart before. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out how it would help buyers. Can someone explain how it would work?
If a buyer selects from several sellers and expects a discount for multiple purchases, or for combined shipping, it's obviously not going to be possible. I can anticipate some disgruntled buyers when they find out the items in their cart have been individually forwarded to a bunch of different sellers, and they are still going to have to make individual payments.
An invoice request to one seller works like a charm. I issue invoices routinely, it's fast, easy to add appropriate discounts, and the buyer only has to make one payment.
On eBay the Shopping Cart/Basket is used for the convenience of making one payment with Paypal to all sellers. You still have to pay the separate shipping costs, if they have it.
It is a very handy feature as it saves going back and forth to Paypal after each individual purchase.
As someone has said, the best you can do on eBid just now is add it to your watchlist and purchase everything from there individually. I noticed that eBid (handily for me) take the item off your watchlist once you buy it.
What other auction site (other than Ebay) has this shopping cart feature?

Ebid does need to stop the big seller push add and alow buyers to go to their dashboard they don't need to read 4 pages about becoming a seller to buy things and we need buyers a lot more than sellers
