Thread: Paying for multiple items

  1. #1

Thumbs down Paying for multiple items

Just returned to ebid after a long break - gave up with it because buying 10 items, you have to log in to paypal 10 times.. too time consuming. There doesn't seem to be any improvement to this problem.. unless there is a solution very well hidden within this forum but impossible to find.. Any help anyone? Who am I talking to .. eBid support or the general public - not clear how this forum works???
    thanks

You could be talking to both, but generally members like yourself.

If you buy multiple items from a single buyer then request an invoice. You can do that in the dropdown on the ASL (After Sales log). Sellers will gladly send an invoice, and most will give a shipping discount. The seller will also pay less in Paypal fees for a single payment.

To my mind 10 items from 10 different sellers = 10 seperate transactions with maybe half-a-dozen different ways to pay - or am i missing something here?

And if you went to 10 different stores in the mall and purchased at each, you would have to pull out your credit card 10 different times.

A shopping cart type arrangement was mooted in here some time back.
This would make multiple purchases from various sellers ideal for buyers, however I'm not sure just how possible technically that is?
    Anyone know?
I wonder what "the powers that be" think on the subject.

The bay is set up to where you can pay all the sellers you buy from with just one payment, so it is possible to do.

Yes, but then the seller can't offer any shipping discounts. I imagine that is why the bay is pushing all items to be "free shipping"?!

If I buy 1 item from 5 sellers I pay them all in one checkout, if I buy 1 item from 4 sellers & 3 items from another seller, then I pay the 4 sellers in one payment & make a 2nd payment to the seller that I bought 3 items from to get discounted shipping, making 2 payments is better then 5 payments.

Also if the seller has set up discounted shipping in their profile then I can pay them with the other 4 sellers & still get the shipping discount.

Yes, you're right ... 2 payments are easier than 5. And if we all want to take the same payment sources and do business the same way, then there should be no problem.

Not all discounts are easily set up in the profile parameters.

If the multiple purchases are from one seller, then the scenario described by the OP is a nightmare. It costs a fortune in paypal fees. Every listing of mine says "if you buy multiple items from me, please wait for an invoice so I can combine shipping and save you money" but I still get multiple paypal payments. I don't want to put the suggestion in big red type but I'm tempted!
