Thread: Refund given - failure to complete contract / agreed sale

Just to clarify a point on this thread......

The seller has NOT had a heart attack............

Well not unless he is listing new items on the bay from his hospital bed.

I am appalled by some sellers behaviour. If a genuine mistake has been made with the listing then fair enough, but at least be truthful to the buyer - but to start using excuses such as heart attack is a bit low.

Although I would add to the op - that this sellers poor behaviour should not be reflected badly on eBid, it should reflect badly on the seller alone.... they sell on the bay as well as here.

The seller MAY have had a heart attack, and may well be listing from home or a hospital. .... or may have an assistant doing so. If you survive a heart attack, you can keep on doing many things from home or the hosp as you recoup.

You don't know for sure, so it's best to give the benefit of a doubt. I don't know who the seller is, just want to say I don't think you can be so sure of what happened. Usually I totally agree with you deano, and maybe if I knew who the seller was and/or had had similar dealings with them in the past, I might be more inclined to agree.
    Ta-Ta for now!

Just out of curiousity . . . how did you identify the seller in question? The OP has no feedback (and none would have been left in this case), and the OP did not give the seller's name. I just checked the whole thread to make sure I didn't miss something.

    .
    Hospitals have internet access now.

I would be able to continue listing if I was resting in bed and had a tablet or whatever with me.

Sellers message to the OP included 'he has advised me he has no idea when he would be able to fulfill purchases'

Sorry HM but I give no benefit of the doubt in this case - they have been active on the net over the last week with no real gaps - those new listings are NEW and not re-posts.

If there are new listings being put on the bay - then why was the the eBid transaction not able to be completed ?

I will add that the listings just put on the bay are a 3 day listing

If I were in hospital and had access to the internet / was able to, my eBid stores would go on holiday notice and I sure as heck would not be listing anything. I might relist, but the stores would be closed.

    Very curious.

I don't know how some of you manage to track down this information.

That is what I did when I was in hospital, put all my stores on holiday mode (well, my husband did it for me as I was incapacitated at the time - first 2.5 weeks)

If what Deano says turns out to be correct (without reasonable doubt), then I will rest my case.....If I could remember what it was? or in fact where I left it?
