I can't quite seem to get the knack of pininterest. There are gorgeous pics there, for sure. I remember reading that there was some flap going about copyright on images shared that way........

Glad Rex had his fun this morning, maple! Sounds like he has settled in so well!!
    Ta-Ta for now!

Some of the PC's that have been scanning yesterday just have a persons name & not all have even the road but most the rd in Dorchester & the name now I no that road its a long road & all the houses would have been there & a few cards just had the name of the house & no road, if that happend now would never get deleivered.

Postcards are so interesting as a history of an area. I remember reading that even in some of the small towns of SD, mail was delivered at least twice a day....sometimes, three. Sometimes only with the town and the person's name on it.

Morning troops. It certainly is a lot colder again today. Just hope we don't get any more snow.

Done my listing for today - a couple of escapees overnight.

Maple, it sometimes amazes me, the lack of full addresses on old postcards. Another one I come across regularly is "Local", instead of the town's name. I doubt that the PO could cope with that nowadays!

What amuses me is cards that are posted in the morning from somewhere in Scotland or North of England to a town in the south, with wording such as. "Am arriving on the 8.40 train tonight". They were on occasions used in the same way as we use text messaging now.

My mother used to be able to do that! We lived in a small Fenland village near Wisbech, and if Mum was going into town, she'd send a postcard to her mother by the first post. Two-three hours later Grandma would be waiting at the bus stop to meet us - in Wisbech !

I did some intensive training last night to acclimatise myself to the bloodbath that might come with the mobile app on the battle field. I went to the cinema to see 'Django Unchained' it was very good and had plenty of Quentin Tarantino blood and guts for my eBid army training !

Those were the days with the P.O. Private Mcc2. You are lucky to get something through the next day with 1st class. In fact I had a load of YDC parcels delivered at 7.30pm one day last week, I wondered who one earth it was at the door at that time of night !

I probably wouldn't answer the door at that time. Certainly not if I am alone (not counting Mil)

well i never think and just yank the door open and glare at whoever is there with a face like thunder because I have just had to walk down a load of stairs, they soon sod off.
Just losted 2 sarge sorry but one was pt. celyn's fault. but I am listing as we speak, done my fabrics that were wrong and listed another one and have another mid list.
Edited to say I have finished my one that was mid list and have done another on, thats enough for today as i keep getting befuddled.
