Busy few days ahead....Annie is having her Xmas party on Sunday at the local snooker club where they had it last year.

Then I am visiting my mum on boxing day to make sure she has something to eat.

We won't be getting xmas presents from mum this year as she doesn't realise it's xmas.

Hate waiting for someone to arrive - no. 2 son and girlfriend have just left my father's in Huntingdon on their way over to us in Wales - at least a 4 hour journey via A14/M6/M54/A5 - and they've been on the road since 2 p.m.

home made is almost always better. The one exception is my local butcher's (made in store) steak pie. Several years ago they decided to do away with them and get "factory pies" instead. Their entire customer base was disgusted and we started a petition. It took all but 2 weeks to get them back!

I hope they don't run into any road closures due to flooding. My eldest isn't coming till Christmas Eve - I hope it will be ok by then.

Marianne our best butchers have stopped all the cooked pie sales and sales or cooked meats and now only cater to the hotels, all we have is asda and their cooked meats are all reformed stuff and the pies well they are just cheap nasty things full of herbs.
I am going to have a go at making some pork pies but I want them with shortcrust pastry and not the hard greasy stuff like most pork pies are made with. looking for pork pie tins for single ones at the moment.

Good morning! I can't believe how warm it is: 13 *C (55*F?) No wonder I am perspiring. I have started the coffee machine and put the kettle on. Will keep everything warm and ready till everyone surfaces. I had a shower and washed my hair standing on one leg leaning on the crutch. I must be getting the hang of this, as it was a lot quicker than last time. But now I am exhausted. At least I smell a bit better Nothing much planned for today, though I have a gut feeling that OH's eldest brother will pay us a visit. I hope it won't be like the last time - just as I had lunch ready. Have a good day

Morning **HUGE** yawn. Well, they got here about 1am - and we sat talking for quite some time. I'm not used to such late nights/early mornings and I'm shattered.

    Definitely a lazy day

    p.s. and we have sunshine!

It rained all night but fine at present but don't think will bother to put washing outside.

Glad to here you family arrived safely am sure you will have a lovely time just don't go over doing things Annie.

We are looking forward to seeing family but for the 2nd time son's car is playing up so will have to wait & see what happens, hopefully they can sort it Chrismas eve, as hate him to be stuck between Worcester & Somerset. Why is it that all these things happen at the most unfortunet time.

Buttons hope Pork pies go ok should thing patry will be much better.
