Thread: Hey eBid, don't become Ebay

Default Hey eBid, don't become Ebay

A lot of good work has been done here at eBid. I am generally happy with it. I only have one broad suggestion, don't become Ebay. Ebay has become a tyranical, overpriced, unfriendly, piece of crap service. As you grow, and you will, dont' forget your roots and the people that got you there. Ebay forgot and started screwing us and that is why we are here at eBid. To the eBid owner or owners, get big, but remain small minded. It is the little things that make you better than Ebay right now, don't lose that.

eBid has been around for a while and has remained true to it's roots. I am sure the owners know that is what people want, and why they came here. They probably also know that people would move if eBid did become eBay mark 2.

Just as a side note...went and had a look at your listings. You have at the top of the description text:

Check my Personal Page and items for sale at www.ebay.com, golfboy1954.

I would suggest you remove that from your listings before admin does...just FYI

I would hope that the boys not repeat mistakes made by the bay, but nothing is absolute in this world. I do believe you are correct though in that people would move if eBid became like eBay in their tactics. Perhaps even if they were merely perceived as moving in that direction.

    Default ebid, don't become Ebay

ebay also thought they the originators knew what buyers and sellers wanted or needed when it started. needs change . ebays needs changed and found it was very laborious to help the little seller fight off the scam or dishonest buyer. they started letting buyers take advantage and use the small seller as a doormat. when the small seller is too much of a risk to "the buyer,s great experience" he she is eliminated or limited in sales. I for one firmly believe this was the intent of DSR rating from buyer and no feedback to buyer along with an easy notasdescribed situation form paypal. it was sometime coming but ebay now is approaching a very low maintenance risk and costs by offering mega sellers full power . i firmly beleive that ebid will stay fair and remember the little guy as intended. ok a serious not how can i offer or state no shipping as pickup only? yes i am new here however sold on ebay for 11 very profitable yrs. just do not see an option anywhere. thank you .

Use the drop down menu in your shipping options - it is there.

Ebid is a very small privately owned company, with very few staff.

So I don't think they will get all ebay's big time ideas - for a long while at least.

Perhaps not, but alas, it doesn't take a big time idea to turn one to the dark side.

Hi Golfboy, I totally aggree with you...ebay has changed for the worst.. I have heard so many people complain about them..they don't care for their sellers at all..they need to change their attitude ...they are not being fair. I have come from there myself because of their unfairness.
