Thread: 1 Buyer 2 Addresses

  1. #1

    Default 1 Buyer 2 Addresses

Hi, I have a buyer who has two addresses, one on eBid and a different address with Paypal. The item is ready to be posted and I have sent three emails to the buyer asking to confirm (last night and this morning) and not yet had a reply. I want to post at 3pm today when I visit post office, but I am not happy to do this in the event the item goes astray.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Technically, you should use the Paypal address to be covered.

Having said that, is it a new to eBid buyer? In which case they haven't updated their paypal account.

Has happened to me a few times, and just had to wait until they confirmed correct address.

YES! I've had several sales like the one you've described. Whenever this happens you need to email your buyer ASAP requesting clarification on their shipping address. Do not ship until you hear back from them. One time I had written a buyer and they emailed back that "oh, and by the way, I need this shipped as a gift to someone..." WHAT??? Are we supposed to be mind readers??

Be cautious, take your time, make sure you get the correct info and save that email for future reference if you need it.

Thanks for your replies. I will wait until I get a reply from my emails, otherwise it will cause more problems if I send the item to the wrong address. The purchaser has been registered with eBid since 2009 (first purchase) so an address move could have happened. The item was only purchased yesterday so it could be that the purchaser is at work and will not see my emails until they next log in (hopefully sooner rather than later). I like to get my orders in the post, after payment, as soon as possible so that feedback (if given) reflects the service the purchaser has received.

I know, but if the buyer is halfway a reasonable person, they will see the dates on your attempts to contact them.
I can only echo the others - definitely check before sending!

I've ran into this situation with customers on several auction sites. If they have 2 different addresses I would contact them and ask for an email or message with the the delivery address they wish to have their purchase delivered to. This will give you a record of the delivery address in case there's a problem later on down the road. I would suggest delivery confirmation too to confirm delivery to that address.
