Angry Seller no longer a member

i paid seller davediamond01 2 days ago for an item and have noticed today that this person is no longer a member. is there any way to find out why they are no longer an active member?

Wouldn't normally be bothered, but i have just paid them £120 of my hard earned cash.

What a nightmare for you. ebid, are, I have to say, pretty good at responding to support requests, so I hope that they are able to sort things out.

In the interim, here are some other things you could think about.
If you paid via Paypal (I do not know about the other payment formats available) or via credit / debit card, you should be able to contact Paypal, or your card issuer, to sort out getting your money back that way.

If you did pay via paypal, you will have thier email address to hand, I would also reccomend emailing the seller direct on the offchance.

What Dark said. Sorry to hear you had this problem, but support is usually very good about getting back to members, so you should hear something soon.

Do contact Paypal (if you paid through them) and open a dispute, if necessary, to get your money back, someone said recently on the forums that you have 45 days to do this. If you paid by credit card, your credit card company should be able to cancel the transaction, if debit, I'd contact your bank or other financial institution.

Hope you get this sorted soon.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

    Hi All

Just a quick update. I have raised a dispute with paypal, but cannot escalate for another seven days. which pretty much means i wont get my money back for at least 2-3 weeks.

Just as a warning to anyone buying - don't go anywhere near items being sold by member davediamond01 (joanrae01@gmail.com).

Is there any way to find out if this seller has a history of scamming - they were selling another 2 items when i purchased mine.

they still are barred ie line through there user name sometimes a seller will get a line through when there selling expensive items this is so ebid can verify them before allowing them to continue, but you have there email addy so it looks like there not responding !

i also see you have had another 3 transactions on ebid that you have left FB for yet no one has bothered to give you FB i find that very poor i can assure you not all sellers here are like that,

hope you get this sorted soon.

Not sure where you'd get that kind of info. (scamming history) but eBid should take care of things on their end, they frown on scammers of all sorts. Hope Paypal takes care of things as well.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Sorry to hear what happened. It's unfortunate that this does sometimes happens. But as mentioned before, a lot of sellers are honest. It's a few that gives buyers the jitters on buying on the net.

Just a thought though. I'm not sure how the moderators will handle the mention of the seller. Although I appreciate the info, I think it's not allowed to mention the members name.

I hope you get your monies back if it isn't resolved. Good luck!

    Hi mat280785,

I am in the same position as yourself. I won an item from a seller and then he disappeared from eBid after payment the next day (I paid just over £300 using PayPal). I emailed the seller and he didn't respond, which led me to believe that I had been scammed.

When I cancelled the payment on PayPal he responded to my email ten minutes later saying "sorry for the delay but (supposed) item will be on hold until I release the cash". I have escalated this with PayPal and hope to hear something before the end of this week.

Hope you get your cash back from that scammer. Fingers crossed I get mine back too.

    All the best.
