Thanks the account i'm going to use is one that's not in use for anything but is a visa debit card. and no moneys will go into it unless i put it in can i ask then is this bacs then as i'm confused if it's the same thing so i can offer it on my uk listings as well.

sorry for being so thick i don't understand it but i don't understand computers but i can list now taken me long enough to learn but where it comes to thing like that i like to make sure what i'm ticking and telling people is correct. so i'm a slow learner but i get there and i'll keep asking till i get it right.

Transferring money from customer's bank account to your bank account online is using the BACS system.

Since Faster Payments were introduced, it's much quicker and your parcels can go out much earlier!

You'll have to add the details - account no, sort code and account name - to your invoice.

Could I point out "BACS" is only a payment method.
You still have to pay for the postage, including Recorded & Special Delivery.
BACS does not pay for these, you do or your buyers through you.

i understand that i will add postage to invoice the thing is though if they pay that way the get the choice of normal cheap delivery or in some case i can offer free postage as i can then use the cheapest method to post. and i don't have to then send special delivery all the time for something that cost very little

Bank sort code, account number and sometimes name. I use an old account solely for BACS. I know some say only use it for people you know/trust etc - but that's kinda defeating the purpose I'd think. Those you know and trust aren't going to be buying from you ALL the time, are they?

EDIT: I only give BACS details AFTER purchase. And please don't ever be afraid to ask for help. There are always people on these forums who can advise or point you in the right direction - and I did my fair share of asking when I joined eBid at first.

I don't know why people are so afraid of using Bank Transfer. The details you give out are also printed on a cheque that you pay with. It is a payment method used very widely in the Euro Zone. People don't seem to have a problem with that there

How can accepting payment through "BACS" alter the postage method.

With regards to "BACS", as I have internet banking like most internet users,
I just applied for a new internet account. This I use just for "BACS"
If some body wants to pay by "BACS" I then send them my details.
    Sorting code and account number.

I have used this in the past and always say the amount should be sent in British Pounds and I also charge a fee when paying by bacs from overseas customers which currently my bank charge me £20.00 from outside of the UK I have only ever had 1 payment this way and this was in the UK Customers can pay using pay pal as a guest to send you payments from their credit or debt card personally would be rather unhappy for someone overseas to pay this way but its up to them if they want to pay my fee they are welcome. Many sells to all lets hope ebid is very busy this Christmas
