    Default Research tools?

I have lurked on eBid for a few years now, never buying or selling, but that is all about to change. I have sold a lot on feebay but have become disenchanted with them, mostly because of an inability to answer criticism about my listings and the DSR about which I have no comeback.

I would like to have a bit of guidance though, from all you experienced eBidders. I like to research eBay for best sellers and what sold when. In eBay, I know how. I cannot seem to find a way to access this on eBid.

Can anyone show me how, please?

Click Advanced Search in the Green strip (top right).

Tick the Search Closed box for closed listings.

Yes, you will find ebid is a much fairer place to sell o.
But not as busy as it needs more sellers and more variety.
    But it is growing steadily

Thank you, yes, I found that bit but couldn't get it to do what I wanted. Can I just do a search without specifying an item?

You have to have something in the search box.

You could try this (it might work):

    Tick Search Closed
    Tick Search Descriptions
Enter e* in the search box

It is unlikely (but not impossible) that a listing would not have a letter e in either the title or description.

Thank you. Very helpful. Unfortunately e didn't work when I tried it

However, I have found a lot of info and from this brief view have seen that there are not enough sellers and the variety of items suffers because of this. Some sellers are just listing boring repeats which didn't sell in the last 100 listings and clutter the search.

Where sellers had a wide variety of items, they seemed to be selling steadily but not very often, despite 100's of listings.

Is that a fair judgement? I think I will list anyway because it's free to list, but I'm not very hopeful that eBid is busy enough to replace that other place (!) yet.

True, e alone does not work, but e* (which is what I gave) does - meaning 'search for the letter e followed by anything else'.

Today I tried to search someone's closed listings and used the e* in the search box as instructed and was given a zero find from that. However when I put silver in the search box there was a result :S
How can that happen? Silver has an e in it and is followed by another letter, so in theory, e* should have worked

    Confused ....

I believe by doing e*, for example, you will get items that either start with the letter e, or that have just the letter e (with or without some punctuation after....like e. like an author's middle initial.) I don't think it will give you listings with e just anywhere in the word randomly.......
    Ta-Ta for now!
