    Exclamation thumnail pics gone!

    Hi,
Anyone know why my thumbnail pic on listings has disappeared? (it was there when I initially listed on a "list till sold" basis) I'm seller+ and have paid for lifetime membership. Also I paid £1.00 for a featured listing and the item now doesn't appear in the "featured listing" section. ID number is 63525413 and it's supposed to be listed in Clothing & Accesssories>Mens Accessories>ties. Is the lifetime listing fee just a con to make people pay lots of money up front; then makes no difference to your listings?

    Any help gratefully appreciated. John

You have selected the Free Auction option - if you want extras, eg gallery pic etc then you need to select them!

And no, it isn't a con lol!!!

Thanks a lot Cheaver. I'd just discovered that the featured listing has a time limit and then it automatically converts to a free listing. A bit difficult to find this info - maybe they should warn you up front. But all OK now. Thanks again.

Hi, John, and welcome to eBid!! I had a look at your listings. First off, I think you have a FAB product...but I would suggest that you get rid of that #bay mention in your descriptions...just FYI!

    Hi IWIW60,
Thanks for the reply, and the tip about #bay mention - I'd missed it in the description.
And thanks for the compliment about my product. Sad thing is that I've had no sales yet - not one, despite a couple of hundred clicks, which is strange as I sell a lot using the same type of listings on that other listings site (#bay). Do you think its because I have no feedback on ebid as yet? I was beginning to think there was something wrong with the purchasing procedure, but as ebid don't allow you to trial purchase your own product, I can't check it. Sadly, for my product, the site looks like it attracts lots of viewers but not a lot of buyers.

I would say that it's because your items are priced the same* as on the other site. Most people are creatures of habit & need an incentive to change from where they feel comfortable.Presumably your price there covers the fees they charge so perhaps reducing them here might just be the incentive that buyers need to cross over.
    * At least you haven't increased the price here, which a lot of greedbay migrants do then complain that they can't sell here!

Excellent thinking, blue...yes, perhaps adjusting your price might do the trick. In the meantime take advantage of the Plug Your Auctions section here at the forum...I have made many sales doing just that alone...don't get disheartened...eBid is not the big kid on the block...just yet!! But I have a feeling we will be in the not too distant future...hang tough...sales will come!

Consider editing all of your listings to 'live' ones with 5 - 7 - 10 days (take your pick) and up to 10 auto relists - then these will gradually work their way up the search list for all to see.
RUS (Run Until Sold) remain at the bottom of the eBid search list.

Also, consider a starting bid price with the Buy Now price included.

Take advantage of the Plug your Auctions forum.
