Maybe some are indeed doing this with evil intent, but I'll bet many of them, especially the newer sellers, are just using details they previously used on feebay and forgot they had links that would need changing.
Sometimes I wonder...just yesterday I happened on a seller's listings (a lot of listings) ALL of which had not one..not two..not three..but FOUR LIVE LINKS back to (you guessed it) eBay, Bonanza, Etsy and their own website...all live!! Did I report the seller...you betcha...

Being a 'good boy' I try to keep within any rules - so it irks a bit when I see other flout them and get away with it. Unenforced rules might as well be got rid of and let a free for all reign supreme.
I'm in total agreement with this statement.
I would be, much much more severe than many on here about what to do with offenders, to many these days bend rules and try to work advantages in order to get ahead of others.
I have read comments and advice from sellers and buyers alike coming from ebay that want changes made to how ebid works their program.
I came here, learned what I could and could not do, (with great advice from forum user's) and went on from there.
While keeping my thoughts to myself, I'll continue to let the more gentle and prudent on ebid continue.
    I'm here for the duration.

I wasn't suggesting listings be dumped, nor was I saying anyone had already suggested it. But it's the easiest thing for a programmer to do, and I was trying to wave a big red flag to point out it would be a very counter-productive choice.

Sometimes it's best to try to dam the river early, rather than wait until you're standing in a swamp, up to your ass in alligators.

    Hi All,
I'm new in town and I must admit all my listings have links to my shop and so on.
However I am in the process of removing them all. I am trying to get away from
ebay as it is wearing me down. I have just recently become a top rated seller.
It has its perks, but theres one thing i soon disccovered.
That little badge is like a target! I have never had so many low 1's & 2's
in all the time i have been on ebay. I realise im going a little off course here,
but need to let off a little steam.

You could look at using Bulk Edit to remove/change such links and any references to eBay within the listing text. Always make sure you have a copy of your listings before undertaking a Bulk Edit though (just in case).

Looking at your listings though does show that things are not quite as simple as I proposed in #9 above; there are a lot more variations of URL that point back to eBay than I thought.
