Suggestions for quitting smoking

By starting being smoke-free you are ALREADY SUCCEEDING!!! Way to go, Sues!!! Man in Kilt is just biding his time a bit.

Thanks Your Majesty, trying to get rid of the last cancer sticks as I write, terrifed, but definitely wanting this more than ever before and wanting kilt man, too.

Am letting bf know today that Monday is our quit date. Hope he can get his e cigs before then. I'll have to see if they're carried locally, so I can supply him if necessary.

I am not going to recover Sues but that ain't going to stop me, My OH thinks I am too lively espesially when I am in a stinking mood, he has even offered to go and get me ciggys, but ya know what I ain't having them so he can blame me for giving in first ( as in you said to get some)

Can't speak for myself, but my wife gave up smoking after many, many attempts whilst reading a book: Easy Way to Stop Smoking - By Allen Carr (apparently you quit while reading the book rather than before).

She doubted it would work, but it certainly seems to have - been off them now for about 5 years. She bought it on the recommendation of someone else, who also successfully used it to give up after many attempts. Once she'd finished it she passed it onto a friend who subsequently gave up.

Maybe coincidence and that all three were just in the right frame of mind to quit, but reading it certainly didn't do any harm.

Wow, never heard of that one, will see if I can locate it, sounds like a must read to me.

Got bf his electronic cig's yesterday afternoon at a local tobacco shop, wasn't sure what kind to get so got three different brands, (the salesgirl's brand, another she said was popular with customers and a third just cause it looked interesting), figured that way he could try all three and decide which he likes best. Told him this morning and reaffirmed our commitment to quit together. He has echocardiogram today and more tests tomorrow, wish us luck; at least he says he feels OK, which gives me comfort for the moment. Now to check and see if my expired nic patches are still OK and we're good to go.

LOL! Tomorrow is the BIG DAY, laid in a supply of patches for me and e cig's for bf, wish us luck.
