Oh what an awful situation Becky.
Both ones, it seems a few of us have problems sleeping (because of other people) mine is down to my lovely, totally inconsiderate neighbours. They dont sleep till at least 1.30, then there is often more noise then, day and night ;loud voices, screaming from the kids ( a lot of it too) banging of doorsetc. They drink quite a lot and the mother is always at the pub, either working or drinking so returns late and often drunk and then even louder
There is no insulation and my flat is open plan, they live directly underneath (it used to be one house) and even with my radio on I can still hear everything, the mans voice has deep bass and booms up through my floor , even his coughs rise above my radio. He never goes out either :-(
no privacy or peace here whatsoever
Sleep deprivation is like a form of torture

It looks a bit like mine, Books, except I could beat you hands down there! The whole world and his uncle seem to have dumped all their stuff on me in the 5 years Ive been here and I have enough to get rid of myself. This year I am going to get through as much as I can though, its been taking over my home for too long!

Afternoon - just realised I haven't reported in today.

Managed to get hubby to start trimming back the shrubs and ivy that's coming through the dividing fence from next door - and guess who has to hold the bin bag for the bits to go into? It's strange having a bigger garden again although VERY different to what we've had before. All the flower beds are raised and run alongside the perimeter fences. In no rush to start planting stuff as I want to see what's already there first! But one stretch has already been earmarked for herbs

**hugs** for the Sarge and her family and hope the situation improves all round very soon ................

So sorry Becky that things just seem to get more complicated for you. You have a lot on your plate and then trying to keep us all in line must be overwhelming sometimes. We all will try to not give you much to be concerned about. I don't seem to have much to worry about today so relax and take a little nap and let the rest of us keep track of things today. I am sure Buttons could throw a few orders around if necessary.

Thanks for the good wishes troops. Don't worry Private Boi it's good therapy coming in here and shou...... erm, I mean giving gentle commands !

Private Sal, would it be any good contacting your landlord to see if they would put some insulation into your floor or do you own it ? That is awful if you have noisy neighbours.

Thats actually the best piece of advice Ive heard offered over it since I lived here, and I agree it IS the best solution, though I am now hoping to leave within the year but meanwhile....still have to live here!
Ive already discussed it with the landlord a few years ago, he makes all the righ noises at the time, but I remember him telling me a new law was coming in THIS year about property insulation. I did put in another complaint a few weeks ago and still waiting to hear back
I will have another word, thanks Sarge

Don't worry Sarge, I had noticed the sun was out and have had a quick sorte earlier today

But still not quite warm enough as yet !!!

Have been at work today and on return, more stuff has been added to the pile, so will have to get listing, I don't know where it all keeps coming from. Most of the records are mine, but the rest are from various family members

Good morning! I hope it will be for everyone. Looks like it may be another warm spring day, though a bit of rain would be useful. The vision of standpipes as of former years is not a pretty one. Coffee is being made as I write and the kettle is also plugged in. Need to search for a jar of marmalade to go with the toast, and then I can have my breakfast.
