I buy second hand or use the library. I'd been looking online for a book from the 1970's - priced from £8 upwards - then checked at my local library. They got me a copy from another branch for the grand sum of 60p!
You can get a FREE Kindle for your PC or Laptop. (there are also free ones for Macs, iPads & iPhones) This is a software program that works the same as a Kindle but on your PC.
If you later decide to buy a real Kindle you can link it to your PC so all your books will be available on both
The link is next to the kindle advert on the front page of Amazon
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else
What i dont understand is why some Kindle books cost more than the delivered Paperback price on Amazon.

Getting back to the Original Topic
Bill - surely you are joking! (or boasting)
Everyone has known for years that book shops are closing - the big chains in the USA have all closed.
Have you only just found out ?
I love books
But with the price of second hand books, it is a wonder the shops can exist.
But there will always be a market for classics and good books eg I love history books.
But the internet has changed many industries
Newspapers
Books
Music
And trends come and go.
I mean look at the types of shops we have had in our small shopping centres
Fish And Chips
Now Chinese (or Indian)
Video Stores - gone
Hot Bread shops - gone
Two Dollar Shops - everywhere.
