Well, this thread has been helpful for me.
I too thought that lifetime meant free. I have been wondering about upgrading to seller for a while, the main thing putting me off is that there is no indication of whether any buyers are interested or not so would it be worth £50 to find out? However, thanks to this thread, I can see that Platinum will probably be the best option for me if and when I finally make my mind up to upgrade!
    Thanks Wizeguy

I agree. I don't think that there is any deliberate deception at all. I also had difficulty understanding the fee structure here. Like anything else, I found that there was a learning curve to eBid. And I admit it, I even found the forums confusing and managed to put posts in the wrong places.

Think its a case of how many items you intend selling to decide fee structure but think the 50.00 one is a bargain specially for a long term seller.

And you thought correctly. Seller+ Lifetime membership means free listings with no FVFs if you choose the free style auction listing (with no thumbnail in the search list) and if you don't opt for extras ie bold, highlight etc

Be aware that opting for a set time subscription incurs automatic payments from your account.

I think that a gallery picture is a good idea. Many buyers have said that they won't look at the listing if there is no thumbnail.

I agree and 2% FVF is very little to pay.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't have a problem understanding the fees.

If sells….otherwise you will not pay anything but most of sellers’ invest own money in each listing item and how long will take to recover that all money and recover membership fee and pay 2% fee for eBid and top of that finally make profit is up to only sellers’ in here…a day…a week…a month…a year…still is up to only sellers’ will find the buyers’ for own items and recover all that money quickly…personally for me life time membership deal is the best way to go ‘’if you have the money and time’’…....

You are right, if you have any desire to sell here for more than a month, or sell more than one closet's worth of items, the $50 lifetime plan is worth the investment. It takes very little effort or sales to accumulate $50 of fees at the Bay ...I've racked up more than $100 in fees this month already. So spending $50 here to get free listings and 2% value fees is worth the risk IMO. I've certainly made worse investments in my time! Only thing that remains to be seen is how long it will take to for the investment to break even once I give it my full commitment.
