Bobby Flay - he's a hottie, and from what I've seen on the Food Network he can cook as well.

Oh and bf, he'd kill me if I didn't mention him, he can and has cooked almost anything, he's my hero.

Happy holidaze and many sales to all,

No idea if she's made them on TV, but the recipe was recommended to me by a friend. Since he's gay as a box of frogs, I assumed the pout had not biased his judgement and gave it a go - yummy.

    Same to you, m'dear x

careful - it may have been my enthusiasm for Raymond Blanc's accent and gorgeous voice that meant the thread was removed... Who knows?...

We'd named a few favourites, HFW, Raymond Blanc and Mary Berry were the list I remember, and I'd added: Dan Lepard.

Just to say, DL's a baker, and his site's here http://www.danlepard.com/
I think we'd also mentioned Nigel Slater who is brilliant! For me - my favourites change with my cooking plans - eg for curries it would have to be Madhur Jaffrey and Pat Chapman.

My first ever cookbook as a newlywed was a Marguerite Patten ( she had her 96th birthday in November) and I am grateful to her for teaching me the basics and the traditional. I'd love to meet her - what a lot she would have to tell about the changes in food and diet in her life time, during the wars etc....

Even in my lifetime there have been so many changes - my mother's idea of a curry was mince with curry powder stirred into it and sliced banana and desiccated coconut on top... Pizza was unheard of when I was a child... and then it is such a pity that McDonald's has been heard of...

Oh, that takes me back. My Mum's was mince with curry powder, sultanas and branston pickle stirred in. How on earth did these ideas ever get started!?!

I would drown all TV Chefs in the olive oil they insist on throwing over everything

I love the clean and simple cooking of Bill Granger, the beautiful food produced by Ching He-Huang and of course like others on here, Nigel Slater (Real Food and Real Fast Food used so much in this household)

Happy Christmas Season to everyone and all the very best for 2012. Cheers!
