This seller has been here for 6 years!
And his items were listed without the additional verification.

You don't see that on ebay.

Who said he's a scammer? It's his first sale and he's slipped the net as far as extra verification goes.
Nowt dodgy in that by itself.

    Is this normal practice?
This issue has been going round and round in the forums. I will agree with you. Once you are allowed to sell you should have already been verified. Doesn't help the site for buyers to recieve messages such as the one recieved by the OP.

I am so sorry that you have had a bad experience. There are a lot more good sellers on here than bad ones. I don't buy from sellers on the other side that have top seller ratings because they are the ones I have had the worst experiences with. There are bad apples in every barrell.

Important : Awaiting Requested Documentation from Seller. We have asked the seller to provide additional contact verification information. The user's status is pending receipt of the requested information. We advise not to send payment while this action is pending. Once the seller has provided additional documentation this message will disappear.
This sale seem s to be suspended while extra verification is being sought.

So you should be OK just so long as you follow buying guidelines using paypal and/or credit card.

    SEE! You can trust ebid!

Agree 110%, though I'd hold off on paying til verification is completed. You might want to send the seller a note explaining this, they should understand.

Best wishes for many sales to all,
