Good morning everyone, and thanks for your support and best wishes.
I am still battling away - I seem to be doing ok one minute, then the unbearable urge kicks in, and I get soooo depressed - I really, really want a ciggy.
We went to our daughters graduation ceremony on Thursday - it was a beautiful day, and we all sat outside with refreshments.
I saw groups of people all happily puffing away, and I felt like running over to them and asking for a drag!
We are going out tonight - it's hubbies bday on Tuesday, and there are about 12 of us going for a pubcrawl and a meal.
There are 4 smokers - it will be really hard not to join them when they light up.
When is this longing for a ciggy going to go away?
I am finding it harder this time - I did so well before, then gave in to temptation when I was at a low ebb - first fathers day without my dad.
Buttons, we just have to keep going - we cannot give in - not only will be letting ourselves down, we shall be letting all our supporters down as well.
I hope you will be ok with your new tablets, you sure are a brave little girl, having so much to endure ... keep you pecker up, we are all here for you xxx
BTW - as suggested earlier, if you do burn any candles - make sure they are soy or beeswax, as paraffin candles are not good for you in the long run.

Good morning Trish and Buttons ( and everyone else ) well done on getting this far , even if it really is quite a short time , I know it feels a lot longer..
... only one little bit of advice now you have visitors , and I really mean this ... be hard , tell them they must smoke out side..hermajesty says suggest it...I say tell them...your house...your health..your rules ,.you are not being nasty , you are asking for their help and understanding...so there you go...fags in the house are a NO NO......keep going ladies and have a nice weekend.............papa.
I agree with Papa - it's your house Buttons!
Just think what you can do with the savings. For one, I tiled and refitted my bathroom. I also bought loads of sets of Egyptian cotton towels and bathmat sets to accessorise (cos I chose cream-colour tiles). The state of the bathroom suite - and the bathroom in general - had been doing my head in for ages but before I stopped smoking, I couldn't afford to get it done. So, I was well-chuffed with that result. I did loads of things with the savings, including helping my sister out when I could and that felt really good. Due to circumstances,I had to stop putting the money away a couple of years ago but am glad I was able to do what I did. My bathroom is a constant reminder of my success.
You'll get there Buttons. I admire you so much for doing this basically under your own steam AND with all the health problems you have. If I'd gone the patches/tablets/chewing gum route, I'd still be puffing away. That's guaranteed.
NB: Best wishes to you too,Trish. Just saw your post.

Agree with Papa, your house, your rules, plus it won't be as tempting if you don't have to see it, (out of sight, out of mind, or something like that). I'm really, really proud of you two, Buttons and Trish, I know that sounds corny, but as a smoker who has quit and relapsed many, many times, I know how hard it is to do what you're doing and I honestly admire you both more than you can imagine.
Hugs and stay strong,

I think I've spotted where you're going wrong ... they weren't happily puffing away. I'm sure if you ask most smokers if they'd prefer to be a non-smoker they'd say yes. I know I did!
Stay strong & live long - Ooo I've just invented a slogan![]()
