.rar help pulling hair out

I bought a web cam from Hong Kong

Installed driver software OK

However cannot find it on PC

Also went to a site as per instructions in item and it's coming up as a .rar error

Can anyone put things in English please

.rar is a type of encryption and compression file. In order for uncompromising RAR files you need a software such as WinRAR (paid software) or free ones like IZArc or 7zip. I use IZArc and I'm very happy with it. Just download it from a trusted website like filehippo, install it then uncompress the RAR file you have.

Check Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device manager and see if it shows up there. If not try Control panel/Scanners and Cameras.

No I mean purchased from Hong Kong. It would cost more to send back than I paid in first place. $3 including P&P and is a 30MP camera, 10x digital zoom.

I've just downloaded Skype, and the camera seems to work on there, but I was also going to use it for home videos but can't fathom that out and that's why I needed help with the .rar
