Astral276I think a lot depends on how the buyer arrives at eBid. If they arrive via a lead from Google Products then they are often not regular auction site buyers. This means they treat the transaction like any other purchase on the internet. Feedback is an auction site creation (by eBay). Outside of that arena all the buyer expects is to get the goods they paid for in a timely manner. They are not bothered about giving or receiving feedback - it is not a part of the transaction.
You made an interesting comment, and one worthy of noting.
I never looked at it that way.
Personally, I am not too bothered whether buyers leave me feedback or not - for whatever reason - though if they do leave feedback at least I am aware that the item had arrived safely (or not). As a buyer, I always leave feedback once an item is received - I feel that it is common courtesy to do so. As a seller, I like to leave feedback once the buyer has acknowledged receipt of the item, but if there is no acknowledgment, I still leave feedback for them.
I second on that.
I usually leave my feedback once I received buyer's payment and the item is shipped. It is my opinion that I am leaving a fb to the buyer as a way to say thank you that you actually made a payment and purchased my item. It's my way of doing business, have always been and always will. If any problems arise in the transaction later on, this has no bearing on my feedback.
Now you don't have to agree to that, but I'm sure glad that most of the posters on this thread share the similar opinion.
Not so on another site, but that's a different story. No I am not talking about THAT site. Not a F_Bay.
My 2 cents.
Had a few lately that haven't left feed back (buyers).
I usually leave feedback for a buyer as soon as payment is received, it lets them know you are dealing with their purchase.
On my delivery note I tell them I will be leaving feedback and ask them to do the same mainly so I know the item has arrived and is ok and they are happy with the service, but some just don't bother. i have noticed tho it does seem to be newbies who don't leave feedback, maybe they are not used to doing it or haven't navigated ebid yet to find it??
I suppose if the item didn't arrive I would be contacted pretty quickly!!
Oh well more listing to do

I had my first sale earlier in the month. It was great the buyer lives in the same city. I was thrilled and left feedback right away. However i recieved no feedback from the buyer. I was looking forward to my +1.
Should i request feedback or just let it go? I sent a message asking if they recieved the package and if they were happy with the purchase. I have heard nothing.

Yeah, i must admit tho, as a buyer i dont always leave feedback myself, 90% of the time i do, but sometimes i've left it too long and forgotten.
As a seller, especially in the early days, it's pretty important, and i've sold a few items now and i've only got 1 feedback, if customers see you on this site, with so little feedback... they may not bother at all.
And thats the only problem..
But theres little we can do about it.. we cannot force them too! And if we try.. they maynot even comeback.
Just request feedback once or twice over 4 weeks, if they still dont bother, just let it go!
I'll just keep leaving feedback first, as i do on e......, as atleast one person said on here, the buyers done their part and paid.
I' had 3 sales here, 1 feedback. Notified the other 2 with no response...
Nothing else much to do except move on, this does not deter me from doing what is proper as far as leaving feedback for any purchase I make..
I leave feedback as soon as payment has been received..
I have been quite lucky on eBid and generally seem to receive more feedback here than on e---. I believe that eBid sends out an automatic reminder after 1 month if feedback has not been left and sometimes that seems to result in the buyer then leaving feedback. As a seller I always leave feedback as soon as the buyer has paid.
The claim that the buyer's bit is over when they've paid does not allow for the "It was dirty/notwhat I ordered/damaged" buyer. I still leave feedback here when the buyer has paid BUT you can change your feedback here. Did anyone realise that?
