Enough with Feebay!!! Ebid is my new life now
Hi everyone!!!
My Ebid Store http://123trustedseller.ebid.net/
Interested yes.
Unfortunately too many of the threads about them just slam them.
No site is opposition to me - just another window for my items.
I just wish that more would take after Ebid's owners - dont see them going around slamming the bay - they have better things to do, like concentrating making this site better for everyone.
But whatever floats anyones boat - it dont bother me - just makes my bbl longer!

Wow Mags,
You really do seem bothered by the Bay slamming. I don't like it either, but I never considered my bb club for the slammers. I don't like it because it seems unprofessional/unbusiness-like. I came to a conclusion that I can not at this time afford to loose money on bay fees + PP fees + s/h fees. Once I figure out or can afford (via buying power) to factor a profit on the Bay, then it might work. I made this decision recently.
I know you have a system worked out already. That is good. I'm currently trying to get my own system worked out!
It is the main reason I dont direct my customers to ebid itself. I only give out a link to my store.
Am still sending out around 700 packages per month just now and until about 3 months ago, I had a flier in with them, but changed the wording of my fliers.
I simply wouldnt slam any sites - if i dont like one, I leave it and move on.
But like I said, whatever floats people boats - doesnt make much difference to me. If it makes people feel better, or think thats the way to do things, then who am I to decide it is wrong. It is purely my opinion.

The decision to not "slam any site". is probably best. IMHO it points to character. The way I figure, if someone is willing to slam the Bay, guess what wether they know it or not, they would surely slam eBid if the conditions were "right". I feel the same way about leadership. If you can not support a leader or an organization, find one that you can. Do not stay there and tear that person or organization down. I am not speaking of middle managers and supervisors, but owners, founders, and leaders of major movements. You, like everyone else is entitled to your opinion.
Well if anybody check out whole internet or any auction site for about eBay fees and new rules I think will find Millions and Millions negative writing all over the net….maybe ‘’few’’ positive…....So in the end if we write in here couple hundreds is really nothing compared for and how many all other writes for eBay so called ‘’benefits’’ for the sellers….
...but traffic still decline and will decline in the future more and more because peoples write all over the Net, some sellers will still have good money from eBay but this is really nothing how many sellers have that profit and good money before…if eBay can change the rules every minutes and can hook up fees every minute well people can write against that ‘’benefits’’ too…eBay don’t like to lose the money well I don’t like to lose money too…I can write and warn people to not go in auction site where is big fees because in that case any buyer will pay very big overcharged high prices for exactly same item which can find in eBid much lower…be smart with own money… AMEN……
...
Unfortunately, I can often find items for less at the Bay then on eBid. By less I am speaking of the "end price of bidding." This needs some clarification. On the Bay many seller's feel more comfortable starting their auctions for $0.99 or even $0.01 because they have confidence that the item will be "bid up". They are willing to take the risk. It is indeed a risk because they could take a substantial loss if the bids don't go up.
Now my question is, why are starting prices set so high by many eBid sellers, when the fees are so low on eBid? This is unacceptable. eBid will not grow to the full extent that it can as long as so many sellers set their start prices high. Buyer attitudes and behaviors on eBid also need to change. I consider the "1 bid phenomena" that is too common on eBid a travesty. So not only is eBid in need of substantially increased traffic, but also attitudinal changes of many buyers and sellers.
I was recently involved on bidding on an estate that had a start price of $0.01 or $0.99 The auction finished at close to $17,000 I considered the seller of this auction as taking a loss. No way would anyone have been able to acquire an estate of that magnitude on eBid for less than $17,000 If I was in a position to win something like that, at that price, I would have.
I would love to see seller's who offer those kind of auction opportunities here on eBid. Have you ever? No!
eBid is growing daily in membership and sales..........so who knows what the future will bring. These large transactions are a possibility on eBid! A hopeful trend I see is the noticeable influx of new eBidders that are migrating in from the Bay. They are asking honest questions about sales levels, traffic, site improvements, etc. I have also noticed an overall improved change in response to new eBidders by established eBidders. A more tolerant and responsive stance. So, I personally see a bright future for eBid.
Would be great if eBidders could focus more of their energy on improving eBid; and less energy on tearing down the Bay or any other venue for that matter. It is a higher road to travel, but can do much for enhancing eBid's image as a professional and growing alternative venue.
Agree with you here, constructive conversation about areas of a business other than your own, that are failing to meet expectations of others, with a view to provide a better service yourself, is always a prefered option, slamming anyone or anything can come accross as distasteful and unprofessional. Keeping abreast of how things are going on other auction sites, whats working whats not is a good thing for the owners of ebid to do, as hopefully they wont make the same mistakes but will look at what is working over on other sites and put similar in place over here.
I read that the other day. Thats basically the same 'restructuring' and 'standardisation' of fees that they rolled out for businesses earlier this year. Alot of businesses stopped listing there and when figures started falling, they came up with the ploy of having a free listing weekend for individuals every 2wks.
Listing figures shot up again as people saw they could run 10day auctions, post stuff and then a few days later do it all again for free. In essence this could have been a masterstroke with roughly 6mil new listings at peak, with a fair number selling and ebay picking up all those extra final value fees and maybe bringing people back from the other sites, at least as long as it lasted.
It seems instead that the masterstroke could turn to a brushstroke too far which causes them to tip the paint can over and fall off the ladder. Whilst you'd expect some to not see the consequences of final value fees (probably the same folk who dont factor in all their costs/fees etc when selling and think they've made a profit), i would imagine there will be some form of exodus to match when they hiked the business fees.
Time will tell![]()
