Wink Seller+ Lifetime. Worth it for private sellers?

As title really. I've tried selling things on here before but didn't sell a thing so didn't think it was worth shelling out £50 for the Seller+ upgrade. Now eBay's seriously gone to dogs I thought I'd give eBid another go, but I fear I'll be listing stuff for naught again. Wondered if adding a gallery pic would improve sales at all? I seem to recall that you can only add a gallery pic if you've got the Seller+ account.

I'm not a business seller and I realise that all the auction sites these days only really cater for business sellers, but I just want to move on a few bits and pieces of stuff we just don't want/use anymore. I just don't know if shelling out the extra £50 will make a difference?

Anyone on here not a business seller? Do you have any luck selling off old stuff you just don't want? Or should I just endure the local chav markets... I mean car boot sales?!

    Ta!

Hi and welcome to the forums.

As an individual/non-business seller selling off my collectibles over the years, I can honestly say that while my books/clothing haven't exactly set the selling world on fire, I have sold enough jewelry since becoming a seller+ to recoup my original investment and then some. IMHO the seller+ is a good deal, provided you're willing to do some self promotion.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Thanks for the reply. I've just noticed that the Seller+ thing's now £75, so that pretty much answers my question as that's waaaaaay too much of an intial outlay! I'll just be selling odd household items and some old action figures so I can't see my recouping that kind of money anytime soon.

    Thanks anyway!

I am a small seller too and agree with suesjools 100%. I have also recouped my joining fee and then some and I am happiest when I am here.

You're very welcome, and the best part is, if you change your mind, we're not going anywhere.

Yeah, but it'll still be £75 and I just don't have that kind of spare money. Which is why I wanted to sell some stuff!

I think it's a real shame that one can't use gallery pictures without signing up for the Seller+ account.

Guess I'm back off to eBay.

There is always the Platinum Option

Which costs £0.05 to list an item with a gallery picture, plus 3% Final Valuation Fee If the item sells.

Depending on how and what your listing on ebay if you list it on eBid you will get your $$$ back (taking into consideration listing fees and final value fees) after your first $500.00 in sales then the rest is gravy.

I considered my subscription to ebid as an investment, if it works that's great if it doesn't that's fine also.
There are many exceptionally nice people here, and that alone is worth every cent.

Cool Re: Seller+ Lifetime. Worth it for private sellers?

At the top of my opening page Seller + FEE is £49.49 if you subscribe within 24 hours of enrolment and remember this is forever this year next year forever. I have recouped my initial payment and some ,will be 12 months June 16th around 900 sales. ALL YOU NEED IS FAITH It's no good listing 10 items and expecting your going to sell them all in a week, you have to just keep on listing forever.
