I'm one of the "Cats"!I personally, don't think it matters - as long as said cat isn't professing to be owner of the site!
Anyway - HE is Mischka - I am NANCY and I do introduce myself on my page! Let's face it - how many other auction sites have an "About me" page never mind show a profile pic? Selling via auctions sites etc IS a matter of trust, photo or not. And who is to know that the PERSON in that pic is really the seller anyway?
With regards to the OP, I'm not very good with percentages - all I know is that apart from YDC, the past few months my sales have been practicallly non-existent! But as stated in previous posts, I'll just keep going and hoping. I can't - and won't - grumble about fees cos my first three sales way back paid for those.

Hi Guys,
Very quiet in April, I even held a sale for a week for the royal wedding,st Georges day, and easter but no sales generated from that either! Last time I had one it was reasonably successfull so a bit dissappointing this time.
Need to get listing again, plenty of stamps to go on. I think activity seems to generate sales- listing, posting etc. Anyone else found this?
Cheers Alan

Yes, I've got some many things to list as well. It's time I took more photographs of coins, etc. Today I've been relisting some items. :-)
This past year I've sold 45 items on eBid. In April I had 3 sales.
Julie, you don't like pics of animals on the All About Me Pages? lol I like my old elk. I had fun taking his picture last new years while we were visiting Jasper National Park. I think that most people would rather look at an elk than at my old mug.

Its not that I don't like them its just that I noticed that many About Me's have pics of cats or dogs.
I like cats and dogs and Elk's
I just wonder if a picture of the seller would give a new buyer more trust that the person's cat.
Or even a picture of their house or business ?
i dont want to scare the children is my excuse.
What does it matter if you're young or old, black or white (yellow, green, blue or purple), fat or thin, short or tall,
able bodied or disabled?
How you perform as a seller is all that is important,
it's about your ethics, how you run your business, how you treat your customers.
Your appearance matters not one iota!

I was only kidding about the pictures ... the cats, the dogs, the elks, the old mug ... whatever. lol
Personally, I think the picture that the person chooses shows a little bit about their personality. I don't think that seeing a picture of the seller would inspire more trust in a buyer. I can only speak for myself, but that is the way I see it. I don't really care what the person looks like.
To me, the "About Me" page is important in order to inform the buyer of selling policies and to give a brief impression of the seller.

I find pictures of people on All About Me pages a bit off-putting, actually. I wonder why the seller wants to show me how they look. If I'm trying to buy an item, that's what I'm looking for, not a dating agency. I'm much more interested in somebody's returns policy than I am judging how good-looking they are (or think they are!) I do like a little bit of personal chit chat - to judge the type of person and because I'm nosey- but I can do that more effectively from words than I can by looking at a picture.
