Default Canadian Head Count :) A Meet & Greet.

Just for fun. I like to know how many Canadian are checking out the forums.

I read the forums here every day to learn a little more and get a feel for eBid.

I find two big weaknesses for some Canadian sellers with eBid.

    1) The shipping calculator for Canada returns the wrong amount (gives base price and does not include Fuel Surcharge and Sales Tax). I have reported this last week and hope that it gets fixed soon.

    2) Lack of a tax table or a means to charge the appropriate GST/HST (5 to 15% on item price and shipping cost) for all provinces in the sale when the buyer pays. There is an option for sales tax for items shipped to your own province but this is inadequate. I have requested this as has others in the past.

Fixing these issues might encourage more Canadian sellers to list on eBid.

I joined eBid in March 2009 with a Seller+ Lifetime membership. I was new to eBay in Jan 2009 and figured out eBay that year and sales there kept me occupied. Now with recent changes in fees at eBay, I have decided to explore eBid and other options. So far I find the site interesting and a possible alternative to eBay for me.

Gee it might be better if you got the Canadian governments to fix their tax mess!

But that is a good idea.

I have often though of trying to start an Australian and New Zealand one.
Or even a forum group ?

There are a couple of Australian groups already. Check out the groups. And a couple of Canadian groups. Most of the groups are quiet.

I think we will have to grant dual citizenship to our poster from New Zealand to get more "Canadians" posting.

How about if you've been to CA, fished at Rainy Lake, driven across the country on Queen's Hwy 1 (I think it was), and fell in love with the Blue Kool-Aid that was on sale there. Also found it interesting that French Fries were served with gravey....................
    Ta-Ta for now!
