    Default Picture (jpg) Question.

I am trying to produce a leaflet for a local company and they would like colour put into their logo. Trouble is it is currently in black and white and all my art programs detect it as that. Has anyone converted a B&W picture to colour? If so how. I am pretty technically minded but this one is defeating me.

One way I'd try with my software prog is to create a cutout & leave it in the pic then fill that cutout with colour.Do that a number of times to build up the colour pic you want.Don't know if other progs have that facility.

I have just experimented with GIMP using bucket fill. Great!

Thanks for the suggestions, I've downloaded Gimp, but it will not colour a b&w image. Am I doing something wrong. I have tried using Windows Paint and belive it or not it allowed me to add colour, but it does need enhancing as there are still some uncoloured pixels which it looks as though I will have to recolour using the paint brush. Very boring and time consuming.

Modern Technology. Probably take less time and aggravation if you took your camera and took a color picture of their logo then resized it on the computer.

Print it out, then write a number of each seperate part of the image.
Fill in each number with a corresponding colour.

If you are asking what I think you are asking...

You need to increase the colour depth of your image. Hard to say how without knowing what application you are using, but there should be a menu option somewhere to do that.

You need to hilight/outline the bits you want coloring on the original image and then add a 2nd layer where you would add the color to.
