Why do most other alt "auction" sites not have auctions ?
Ebay auctions are down as well.
Sure some items suit auctons and I have done well with some auctions
I'd like to see the red X gone
The number of views shown to buyers gone
The number of watchers shown to create some interest for buyers and sellers.
And a bids column
Even for a three months trial.
Are you kidding?? If no Bid Column, then members have really no clue as to Bids... which means No Additional Eyes have looked at the auction/s.
So... asking that question is kinda absurd. HELP!! where is auction smarts here.
With no bid column... it is really a BIN site... and known as such, which is also absurd for real auction sales and will NEVER attract the sellers that use auctions to make sales for real action on really wanted-popular-current items. With a BIN site.. that is what you will attract here forever.. dump and run and no serious selling by legitimate sellers who have items in their possession and own the items they are selling.
"If bids had been shown" then all that would have shown up was columns and columns of "0". Hardly encouraging!

Sorry, but that sounds like a defeatist attitude to me. This is an auction site and bids need to be shown. If a bid column is troublesome to some because of the "0", why are the big red Xs that show when searching for closed items not troublesome? Those red Xs are "hardly encouraging!" as well.

I didn't say the big red Xs weren't troublesome. I can write a huge list of things about eBid that are troublesome. For me, not showing the bids comes way down the list.

I don't have a long list but bids showing are at the top. I currently have 9 items with bids on them. Do I think they will get noticed by another potential buyer.....no! Buyers are smart and will quickly realize that their starting bid is the price the item will go for, so why should they BIN.
When this was discussed before, I suggested a compromise that perhaps ebid could color-code the items with bids so those items could somehow stand out in the searches. That was a negative by many sellers. It's seems that ebid admin does not want this site to truly be an auction site, IMHO.

Your items with bids (it's me on my other id, btw!) are scattered throughout your listings for me, but I like the colour change idea.

Didn't know you had 2 IDs, lol. Glad someone else likes that idea [color change]. I thought it was a decent compromise for those of us who wanted bids to show. But others responded with [and I quote] "Showing the bids is showing the bids, whether you do it via a number, a colour, or the picture of a baboon's backside - the site just isn't ready for it yet".
As for you knowing my items have bids, you know the ins and outs of ebid because you have been here for a while and can figure out they have bids. Newbies will not.
