If a website had an 'Alexa rating' of say 1, then, it would be THE MOST VISITED site on the net. (According to Alexa).
On the other hand, a high number like 1,000,000 would indicate a SELDOM VISITED site.
So the lower the number, the greater the 'perceived popularity'.

Because the information is mostly taken from the 'Alexa Toolbars' which people install on their PC, some see it as not giving a truly accurate picture.

Quoting straight from the 'horses mouth' (ALEXA themselves) .....

'Alexa could not exist without the participation of the Alexa Toolbar community. Each member of the community, in addition to getting a useful tool, gives back. By using the Firefox, Chrome and IE toolbars, every member contributes valuable information about the web, how it's used, what's important and what isn't. Alexa returns this information to the community as Traffic Ranks, Related Links, and more.'

Ahhh.. Thanks for that. I figured it must be something like that as people seemed happier as the numbers went down.

I wouldn't be happy knowingly having a toolbar that tracked my internet usage and passed that to another party.

That's a valid concern Mel - Everyone would have to decide for themselves if they were happy with Alexa's Privacy Policy.

This was taken from the Alexa Website...

"ALEXA'S TOOLBAR SERVICE COLLECTS AND STORES INFORMATION ABOUT THE WEB PAGES YOU VIEW. IN SOME CASES, INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THE TOOLBAR SERVICE MAY BE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE, BUT PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT AT ALEXA, AND WE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ANALYZE WEB USAGE DATA TO DETERMINE THE IDENTITY OF ANY ALEXA USER. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING AGREEMENT AND PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE DOWNLOADING AND USING THE TOOLBAR SERVICE SOFTWARE. IF YOU DOWNLOAD AND USE THIS SOFTWARE, YOU WILL BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, INCLUDING THE PRIVACY POLICY."

I've been in business for 25 years and never put all my eggs in one basket. So what if you only sold one item on here once a month it is still a sale and that is all that matters. Even if that sale was a loss to your sale on another auction site it still equates to more money in your pocket for that sale. Even the lifetime membership fee is worth every penny for advertisement exposure alone on the net.

It does not matter how cheap the fee's are if nothing sell's. I wont move my feepay feedback numbers over here because I think that is very misleading and wrong. The only reason why I open a store here was that it looked like sellers were selling because of ther feedback numbers. well come to find out there imported. """""what a joke"""""""""""""" Wasted many hour's listing items here and all I have ever done here is remove them when they sell on feepay.

    That's fair enough ziggy.
I can understand your thoughts and feelings and I can't prove you wrong. If you want an eBay equivalent experience here - it aint goin to deliver it (at the moment at least) - and who knows if it ever will? It's definately a different type of site to eBay and it's strongly UK based. That will make it harder for you and me who aren't UK based. If selling 'online' is your primary source of income then you need sales volume.
But like 'karltone' said, maybe spreading your sales across sites is a way to go. For me personally, I find it difficult to spread myself too thinly (across many sites - it gets too confusing for me). So for now, I'm giving here a go....

Hi, I hear what you are saying. Sales in general are slower here than on the Bay. However, there are some sellers who sell quite a bit on eBid. Also there are many sellers who refuse to import their feedback here from the Bay or any other site. I happen to use both venues; am a Seller+ Life Time Member of eBid; and I have imported my feedback from the Bay.

I think diversification is appropriate for anyone who chooses to use it. I became a Seller+ Life Member after I realized it was the only cost effective way to go. I have made my investment back many times over. I made the decision to import my feedback because I am proud of my feedback in both venues. I did not import feedback here until I established myself as a seller and a buyer here.

All of these issues boil down to personal choice. Do whatever suits you, but do not impose your choices on others.
