Default Not sure how to respond to feedback

On ebay a buyer left me negative feedback, she said earrings were too big. I did not have measurements for the earrings but I had a very good (thought I did) picture of them. They were hoops, and almost twice as large as the card that they were on. Would love to respond to that but not sure how. Any suggestions. I hope this one negative will not hurt me too bad. Everyone else who bought from me were happy with their purchase.

Well, unless eBay has changed you are stuck with the negative regardless of what you do - damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Had the buyer contacted me before leaving the neg then I would have resolved the matter if I could (I appreciate things like earrings are often non-returnable on health grounds). As the buyer skipped that step I would be less inclined to offer that courtesy. Basically, the buyer should have clarified the details with you prior to purchase if the actual size was not stated and it was an issue for them.

I would suggest emailing her and offering her a refund if she reurns them. Pictures are nice, but don't give the size. It would be good to measure them, and include that in the listing....or put them by a tape measure or a coin, to show relative size. Cards can be any size, so that doesn't show how big the earrings are. Too bad she didn't like them, but I can understand something being too big. But she also could have asked how big they were If she returns them for a refund, I don't know if she can change the feedback - probably she could.. One negative, when it's a person espressing an opinion on the size of something shouldn't be too bad.....you gave good service and sent the item, so that's all good. I don't know how Ebay will handle your having a neg......prob depends a bit on how much you sell there?// I don't know. Good luck.
    Ta-Ta for now!

    Hi Artic.....

"Sorry you are unhappy. Please return for full refund"

What you do with the item upon it's return is up to you.

If I had left out the measurements of the ear-rings then I would refund the return postage as well, but that's only how I would do it.

With regard to the Neg it would not put me off buying from you if you handled the reply to it in a calm and orderly manner. Please don't be discourteous, sharp or vulgar in any way as this type of attitude can, and does, put other buyers off trading with you.

Hope this helps in some way.

    Kindest Regards.

    Totally agree with Ollie.

Your buyer won't be able to change the feedback. But don't worry about it - it's not the end of the world.

    Hi Cooks.....

Feedback can be removed if both the buyer and seller agree to its removal. This applies to both Neg or Neut feedback usually if the buyer agrees that it was wrong to give such feedback or a mistake had been made.

The lady said that she was upset about the size and that she just threw them away, as well as another pair that she purchased from me at same time. It was clearly stated that these other earrings were 3 inches long. She said that both were too big. gave me one neg and one neutral

Send her a nice wee note offering a refund - and also ask if she would mind removing the negative as you don't feel that you deserved it. It is, after all, a two way street! If she had a doubt about the size, she should have ASKED! In saying that, with earrings you should try to get an approximate measurement. It's OK to say they were twice the size of the card they were on - but who is to know the size of the card?

Why not ask in the Q&A - it was an ebay sale.
