Thread: Dispute WON

  1. #1

    Default Dispute WON

Purchased a file online for a simulation game I play, the file was supposed to be a fix for a manufacture fault within a program, well I received the file within 5mins of purchasing and the file had to be opened via winrar and downloaded to desktop before being inserted into the game. Well the file was empty like I had paid for a blank piece of paper. Well I contacted the seller through PayPal asking for a refund as I didn't get the program file due to the file they sent being empty. The seller refused the refund stating that I paid for what I get. So I complained stating that I paid for a service to which I had not received. Then I decided to escalated it on 17th and let PayPal decide the outcome as it seemed the seller was not going to refund. I have received notification from PayPal and this is what was said

Trish, he's referring to the ongoing battle he has had with a transaction...that's great news Craig!! I've been wondering when you'd hear back from PayPal...good on you!

Good for you, Craig, that's exactly how I felt when Paypal decided against my scammer a whle back - vindicated and, yes, relieved. Can honestly say I haven't had a problem since, thanks to Ginny's kind advice re: inputting tracking info. into Paypal for all transactions.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

errr... OK, well done I guess but not sure why you posted this on eBid

    So:

    1. You purchased *something* elsewhere which turned out not to be the thing you thought you had bought.
    2. You complained to the seller that you didn't get what you paid for
    3. The seller disagreed
    4. You opened a Paypal dispute
    5. Paypal decided in your favour

It's not exactly "hold the front page" news that ebay/Paypal strongly protect the buyer in most transactions carried out through their sites regardless of who is in 'the wrong'. Unless you can provide specifics (item number for example) of what you actually bid on/bought compared with what you received then your 'victory' amounts to a hill of beans

Why do people have to pour cold water on a wee celebration? Some of us KNEW Craig had an ongoing problem with a purchase. What better way to let US all know than through the KITCHEN TABLE?

Face-to-face, PM, email, telephone, IM, smoke signals?

If anyone who has ever had a problem with an online purchase posted it here there would be nothing but complaints 24/7.

Amendment to the PayPal User Agreement

    Protection for Buyers.

Section 13 (Protection for Buyers) has been amended to reflect changes in PayPal’s protection for buyers.
