We have a tv program here in NZ called Border Watch.
They film the Customs people searching airport arrivals bags etc.
Do you have such a program in the UK ?

Having been quizzed by your customs people in Auckland, I can see that there could be a TV programme in it. ;o)

Yes there is a program like that in the UK, it's called UK Border Patrol

@ Astral - Other way round Mel - was out at Immigration today and they were all up for giving me extra time before my next visit to them, it's me that's bailing, not them booting me.

@ Piper - never say never, but back at least until the kids are in university is the plan, as the eldest is still in his first year of nursery, that's a long way off.

@ Julie - after having had death threats issued to me by the local Customs at a British consular summer ball a number of years back (very long story as to why), dealing with, and surviving, British or NZ Customs will be child's play. If the trigger happy locals, immune from prosecution due to their job, couldn't get rid of me, the law-abiding western jobsworths have got zero chance.

@ Sue - it's not a case of "wanting" to return, it's case of doing what's best for the kids. Being a good parent, I have to forsake what I want, and do what they need.

@ HM - that would be ever so gracious of you to bring me some warm clothing - It will of course be accepted with all good grace.

@ Kim & Craig - skip the dancing girls - just a giant bar of Galaxy chocolate waiting for me (been pining for Galaxy chocolate for years - the local stuff tastes like dog droppings) and a basket of Kimbo's pasties I believe, is owed already, hmmm? Make sure there's HP Sauce in the basket with them, please.

Last bar of Galaxy I had was ..... ooooh ..... 200.....4 or 5 - brought out to me by hand, by another ebidder if I remember correctly. them was the days - ebidders doing personal hand deliveries to the other side of the planet. Just can't get service like that nowadays. Site's gone to the dogs since they let all that ex-eBay riffraff in.
